thats just another part of pinkladez tale that dosent add up along with the rest of the rant, 14 friends on the flight and she would have had to sit apart from her daughter except for the good deed from the lovely couple
i dont want to hassle her, but having a rant is all well and good, embellishing the tale isnt really lying, im not calling her a liar
you cant get away with exagerrated tales on this forum, there are too many experts (not me) who will pick holes in it.
she had a bad trip, probably due to the fiasco of 14 in the party, and very little to do with ryanair0 -
check in only opens for 1 hour 20 mins, waiting for 2 hours is just about impossible, and even more ludicrous when you were at the airport 3 hours before departure
Check in desks for Ryanair flights are supposed to open 2 hours before the flight.
http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/faqs.php?sect=chk&quest=time
People start queuing long before the desks open so there is often a long queue two hours before the flight. If desks only open 1 hour 20 mins before the flight there is already at least a 40 minute backlog of queuers to deal with.
The number of flight desks allocated depends what flight you are checking in for. We fly with Ryanair every 4 to 6 weeks from Stansted and have had to queue to get through security several times taking close to an hour to get through, other times we can get through in 10 minutes. Much depends on the time of day and the day of the week.0 -
I flew to London recently .The plane left the airport over 2 hours late .
We flew to a different airport in London  .We where taken to the wrong doors ,and where past the luggage collection point so security had to collect our luggage .We then had to wait 2 hours for a bus to take us to the original airport arriving at 3.30am ,Over 4 hours late. What a nightmare .should I write to Mr O'Leary and complain .?
Oh hang on I WASNT flying with ryanair and I was just glad to be in the city I was suppose to be in ,all be it a bit late .:p
Oh and as for children ,they should be put it the hold for the duration off the flight ,thus leaving more room for me:T"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
I fly to Italy with Ryanair at least once a month and have never had an issue.
During May 1/2 term my wife and I, along with our 3 kids (1,3 & 6), flew Ryanair to Bergamo as we were staying at Lake Garda.
Arrived at Stansted 90 mins before flight, waited 15 mins to check in (usually use online check in), took 10 mins to get through security and managed to sit ourselves together on a full flight.
On the way back we were dealyed for a bit by an accident on the autostrada and the nice lass on the Ryanair desk gave us free priority boarding to ensure we were together.
I would suggest that this is a fairer representation of Ryanair.Character is what you have left when you've lost everything you can lose.0 -

Everyone has to comply with airport security, even your family.
Its a sad fact that children & babies are often used as mules.
Those precautions are there for us all, if you don't like security at passport control, I suggest you holiday in the UK.
The security checks apply to us all.0 -

Its a sure fact, you get what you pay for.0 -
spot on the_ causal_ tailor, a fair representation of ryanair and stansted that happens time and time again
the check out desk opens 2 hours before the flight and stays open for 1 hour 20 mins, thats fact.
just as an update to my experiences with mothers and kids on flights, my last trip had a part of 8 boarding last, grandmother was a wheelchair passenger so she got on last and had a row of 3 blocked off for her
daughter and her 2 boys decided to board with her and the rest of the gang last, daughter said what about my 2 boys, aged 7 and 9 wannabe hoodies, we need a row to ourselves too, number one cabin crew told them to go the middle, daughter walked off shaking her head in disgust.
grandma and grandad didnt offer to let the boys sit with one of them on row 2, so off they trotted and the last i saw of the boys was when they were running up and down the aisle.
why should the cabin crew be expected to move passengers on a packed flight away from their overhead lockers, and explain that the mother couldnt be bothered to board early, or pay for priority boarding
mothers with kids can guarantee to sit together with priority boarding or be almost certain of a seat together if they get to the front of the queue and put up with a bit of jostling
my experience is most will take their chance and not pay for prioirty boarding, the last on chancers who think by suggesting without actually saying as much to the cabin crew if they dont get a row to themselves and something happens to the kiddies its their fault, fools no-one.
and when i see starbucks goodie bags, and umpteen carry on items being clutched and a stroppy usually very well spoken mother try it on, who enters the cabin with the must have out of breath whining, that makes my blood boil, becasue im always at the front and hear the tale, and watch them try and talk down to the cabin crew and bully her
rant over0 -
I just love the travel companies who try to get you to pay to sit together. good luck for the poor people who have to sit next to my 3 if they want to split us up.0

no i dont work for ryanair poppyolivia, i just can spot a b-u-ll-s-h-it tale as soon as its posted about ryanair, and no doubt you would too if you travelled more than once a year from stansted with ryanair
unfortunately the facts about check in opening times sank pinkladez exagerrated tale, not to mention the rest of feeble tale which didnt add up
it was quite laughable though0
