i think it was originally, then i had a rant about being told to sit separate from my dd? and now i am kinda lost! who would have thought my huff would have gone so far! and i kinda thought the ones who are obviously wrong would have given up the fight even after ryanair had admitted they were wrong?!IYSWIM?
I really dont think we will get to the end of this as there seems to be some very strong minded individuals here with very different ideas!0 -
The discussion has moved on to whether kids should be given a special status for boarding Ryanair flights as with nearly all other airlines including Easyjet.
Some people feel that it's simply a matter of parental and organisational competence to get in the queue early or pay for Priority Boarding (limited to 90 per flight). Others (me) feel that it's a saftey issue as kids shouldn't be sat alone and are restricted in choice of seating. Why anyone would begrudge kids/families sitting together without having to pay for it is totally beyond me.0 -
The emergency exit seats should not be occupied quite a large group of people, not just children.
Correct! Below are the Ryanair T&C'spassengers with reduced mobility, blind/visual impairment or special assistance requirements who have pre-advised their condition will be boarded after general boarding is completed and seats will be reserved onboard. Safety regulations prohibit any passenger with special needs, reduced mobility or vision impairment from being seated at emergency exit seats.
So these other groups you are referring too are given reserved seating and not forced to pay for PB which in any case is limited. So why not children?0 -

If you are travelling with children and therefore require special assistance (with regards boarding/seating, as you have mentioned at length), you should pre-advise Ryanair of this, as you have detailed in their Ts & Cs.
My guess, however, is that you have not pre-advised Ryanair that you require special assistance, yet you require special assistance, nonetheless.0 -
Jammin; Wouldn't that be great! But if you look in Ryanair T&C's on the section regarding travelling with children you will find nothing suggesting this is possible.
I'd like to ask a general question: When you fly with Easyjet and they call up the people with infants to board after the priority boarders, does it make you blush with rage and feel compelled to shout 'QUEUE JUMPERS!' at the top of your voice because of the injustice?
No? So why with Ryanair?0 -

But you have just quoted from the Ts & Cs, a passage which states, quite clearly, that Ryanair require you to contact them and pre-advise of any special assistance required.0 -
In the Children & Infants T&C's:
To ensure that all families travel at the best price and receive the best service we have introduced a number of services to make it easier for family travel:- Priority boarding onto the aircraft is available for purchase

I know!! Hey but at least I learnt something new, there are airlines that have free for all seating, wow I would have a heart attack thinking about that!:rotfl: I'm bad enough asking for seats together, I would have to rugby tackle people running on to the plane!!;)
happy days! You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -
you have hit the nail on the head jyonda, ryanair do it their way and easyjet and others have a different system of boarding
and mothers and babies dont like ryanairs pay to be on first system at all, the poor gate staff, cabin crew get bullied and harrassed because they follow company rules.
if you have seen mothers talk down to cabin crew like i have done, obstruct boarding, and no doubt like yourself claim a row before dad has got on with the kids like a dog guarding a bone, you may realise why i havent got much sympathy for those who cannot be bothered to get to the gate early with little effort required, and are selfish enough to want to change ryaanirs policy to suit themselves
the reality is some mothers know the stress free way to travel with children, frequent flyers know how easy it is to get to the gate early, i know i see them, and i see the once a year ryanair families get all flustered because they have got their late and want thing done to suit them
there is no problem, no big issues, no need to change society, no safety worries
take a stroll to the gate early, it might mean less shopping, eating, chatting with friends, your child is worth a little effort surley0
