 Just as I thought we were going to have a quiet evening I get a phonecall from Capital One
Luckily though I let it go to answerphone but what puzzles me is the advisor told me the number to call then said the lines are open up until 8pm, yet the time they called was 8:30pm
Here we go again I can see were not going to get any peace over the weekend. Still trying to sort out DMP cant keep selling them this yarn if cant get help for DMP.
Thanks0 -
Angelcake, yes you can claim the charges. I'd maybe wait a month or 2 until the DMP settles down before you do though. All the letters are there and it is very easy. Claim back until 2002.
Ghosthunter, we were using a scary amount of gas - £60 per week in winter. The reality was we were only using it an hour in the morning and then a few hours in the evening. We got the boiler serviced (bearing in mind we only had the boiler 16 months) and there was a filter blocked causing all the problems. Hopefully we will not be paying that sort of money again but as its summer I can't really compare.0 -

Hi again all
If rugbymum is still out there somewhere, or if someone knows how to pass this on, I would hold off on buying your son's uni textbooks until he gets there, even the 'required' reading as a lot of what's recommended can be got from the library, shared between students or simply is not 100% 'required'.
And rayday2, thanks for the advice again. Am almost definite about going it alone now as feeling far, far stronger and more able to deal with this situation thanks to all of you and your support.
Just waiting for the new account to be confirmed so can start to move everything. Called Virgin and gave them 30 days notice that am leaving tv broadband and phone and going to switch to tiscali and save almost £30.
If I post my full SOA on the weekend, can you all have a pick through it and tell me if you can see anywhere I can cut costs further?0 -

We had a boiler fitted a few months ago and we lost hot water (its a combi) it would not get very hot and not for long. Turned out the problem was that it was on an old system with old radiators and they had not flushed the system out well enough and then put the inhibator in. We got it sorted under warranty then I quickly joined a central heating servicing and repair scheme just in case!0 -

Don't forget if you make some cut backs keep your budget fairly generous as you will need to set up some emergency funds so that you don't have to rely on credit again.
I am not brilliant with money saving but sure others on here are, I don't mind looking though.0
