GH, you need to look at the National Debtline site and sort out a payment plan for your gas and electric - they can cut you off and they are far more important than credit cards. Rent, council tax then utilities are important in that order - credit cards and loans get £1 for now.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

More bad news I have just received an email from Co-op bank to say they have declined my application to open an online account with them.
Will it ever end?0 -
Sorry I seem to be taking over this thread today if you want me to start a new one just say please.
I am really feeling down now after the day started feeling so positive.
The house is a mess as I have no willpower to shift of my PC and clean it up, we have no hoover as that went kaput a month ago, tried Freecycle but nothing, the floor is white with dog hairs supposed to be terracotta if I remember correctly
Been stuck indoors for weeks, hubby more interested in his work than anythng else (me, dogs or helping his mum).
Appologies for rambling. Thanks for listening.0 -

Hubby is probably just as scared and overwhelmed as you are and is hiding away in his work - probably feels powerless - don't judge him too harshly.
Get all your details together, get comfy and make a phone call to NDL0 -

I don't think I have smiled so much in the last 6 months then I have in these last couple of days! :A
Hi all, just to let you know what's going on with me today. Am feeling so, so much better with all your support and totally agree with the above.
Have a cheque for £260 I have been chasing since MARCH to put to my council tax arrears (thought I was exempt but now seems after 18 months of silence on the matter council say I am not so £1000 arrears!) Just chasing some airline compensation too which THINK will be £400-600.
Just sent off my id proof for my new bank account and then next week am going to get the letters sent off with token payments etc .
I have a bit of a strange situation though and wonder if anyone has any opinions on it or has come across it before. As I have only just finished studying I still have a 'student overdraft' facility for 2 years after I graduate which means that even though it's a debt (of £3000) they don't demand monthly payments to reduce it at the moment but it still has to go into my DMP as is part of my total debt.
Is it worth talking to my bank about this? OR is there any way that CCCS will factor this in and pay the other debts first then review in I think 2 years when they want their money back? Or does it just get treated as a standard debt with all the others once the DMP kicks in?
It's good to see you all back today. I feel so much better and more supported since I found you all. Can't say thanks enough...0 -
GhostHunter, stick in there..... Everyone on here is behind you.
as I said, had a nasty council tax shock on monday... Really does seem that every time you think you're getting things sorted something turns up...
And forget about the floor...I have only cleaned my kitchen floor twice in 18 months and that was because the washing machine flooded so I 'multi-tasked!'
If it's fine outside, get out for a short walk, clear your head and come back and make that call..... xxxxxx0 -
Hi Silly & scared good to see youre getting yourself sorted out.
I cant wait to go back to bed I think, just learnt our boilers packed up now so no hot water (at least I dont have to worry about no heating just yet thats one good thing today)!
Have just had asob and hubby has given me a hug, cant offer anymore though.
Re did the calculations online with CCCS and they can only offer me Bankruotsy or £1 token payments. Going to speak with Payplan and National Debtline later. Good job I didnt cancel my appt with Natwest in town as looks like I am going to need it (hope they dont reject me now) and to get out for an hour will help lift my moodhope?
Will call everyone else later as well.
Thanks.0 -
ghosthunter, speak to Nat Debtline or Cab regarding the fuel bills. These are priority and the creditors aren't! They take what is left and lump it.
A walk is a good idea. I do some of my best thinking whilst out with the dob.
And stick around here kid, we will help as best we can and even if we can't, it does wonders to have people to talk it.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
