Hi abi.
The phone calls I got weren't nearly as bad as I was imagining
Initially they were just - you've missed payment can we have it please. So the answer was no and you will hear from CCCS about a DMP.
Don't panic too much, just give your payplan number and don't be bullied into paying anything extra other than your DMP.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Try not to worry too much, you may not get as many as you think, and even if you do get some they would stop fairly quickly as you have been very swift getting your DMP set up.
There are letters you can send if it gets too much but cross that bridge when you come to it!
I think there are a couple in here who it is not for the first time, but it pointless thinking about that now just concentrate on your DMP for now not how you got here but where you are going from here.0 -
Well just got my post, one gift voucher from surveys so that is my excuse gone - now I have to go paint fence panels.
OOo hang on phone - saved!0 -
:rotfl: :rotfl: That sounds just like me - go to CCCS so you don't have to talk to anyone.
The people I remember from the early days are Teecee, Smilealot, JoeK, Rayday, Newywed, Lonely, IDAAS, ILGD, Sea78.
Do Smilealot and JoeK ever pop in?
I feel bad as I deserted the thread for a long time. I suppose I just needed to get away from the debt thing. I intend to stick around now as I want to help and support others. Without all the friends here I don't know where I would be.
I'm also on a mission to encourage everyone to claim back any charges they have.0 -
Abi, don't let them hassle you. Firstly you don't have to answer the phone if you don't want to. If you do, stand up when you are talking to them. I find that helps - don't ask why. Just keep repeating that you are with Payplan etc. Do not offer them payments or be drawn into making a payment a token payment to hold the account. They use all sorts of tricks.
However once the DMP is all up and running this will all go away.0 -

Yeah but it was the best advice ever for someone who hates the phone anyway and just knew they would cry down the phoneI would have put off starting the DMP for loads longer just because of not wanting to speak to anyone.
I've given that advice out to everyone who mentions they are scared to ring up, coz it was a humongous relief to me to find that I could start tackling the debt without having to tackle to telephone issuesworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Morning everybody :hello:
I am going to take a deep breath today and have another look at my SOA and see where I can make more savings as I am desparate to get started on a DMP one way or another. I was hoping to have had it all sorted out by this weekend but I dont think thats going to happen now _pale_
Have applied online this morning for basic bank accounts with Co-operative, Natwest & HSBCthey all said accepted in principal - paperwork in post!
I did have a meeting at Natwest this afternoon after I started to open an account with them in branch yesterday, I have to take some proof of ID in today, but I wasnt told at branch if I had even been accepted - should I go or just wait for online details to arrive in post - dont even know how long that may take??
Anyways going to look at my SOA again so back soon.
My mantra for today:
Have a happy DFW day, smile and be thankful the sun is shining and be thankful for what you have as there are many who have less!
THANKS EVERYONE YOU ARE GREAT FRIENDS!

Gosh I feel like such a prune! One of two things I think may have happened since I last posted ...
HSBC have received my authority and notification that I am switching to CCCS help and have decided to not phone
or ...
Removing my phone number from my Internet Banking profile means they have no means to contact me
Bet I know which it is!!:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o
If you need me I will be cringing over in the corner muttering to myself about being silly.. whilst enjoying the silence
Welcome Abi & Pucked and any other new people that I might have missed as the thread zooms along! You are taking the first steps to a debt free future so make sure you keep reminding yourself of that and enjoy the support on this thread, I don't think I have smiled so much in the last 6 months then I have in these last couple of days! :A0 -

I opened my Natwest Basic Account via the internet, took just over a week as they mailed me stuff and I returned documents then they mailed me my account number. Their internet banking is also good, they mailed me this little card reader as well for added security0
