  • Hey Angel Cake

Yes I found your reply and thanked you, it was nice to get your message xxx

Well after getting fed up looking at the creased letter lying on the side I decided to write to Lloyds just to ask them who the heck they think they are, did they know who I was and tell them that I was black belt in everything :D As if!! But wouldn't it be a laugh if you wrote letters like that back to creditors? :rotfl:

    Seriously I sent them this...

    Dear Sir or Madam

Following your letter dated 20th August regarding my account I am writing to inform you that Lloyds TSB did receive notification of my debt management plan with the Consumer Credit Counselling Service in June and have received two payments from them so far.

Since I have sought the help of CCCS I understand that they too have made any necessary arrangemnets to contact you on my behalf with full details of my income, expenditure and other creditor details.

I feel it is unacceptable to say that my account with you is a low priority and I ask that Lloyds TSB be sympathetic to my current situation and put any additional charges on hold.

My offer of £xx will remain and I will continue to make this payment to you every month through CCCS.

I would like to ask that my payment protection is cancelled with immediate effect as the policy is now invalid.

    Yours faithfully

    Me

I had my reply from Lloyds today saying they will 'assess' my payments after I have completed and returned the enclosed forms. There is a 3 page form to fill in asking for my employers details, how long I have worked there, all my income and expenditure, my proposed payment to them AND my bank account details with balance!!!!!

Are they having a  laugh???? I am so angry at this, how dare they request that type of information, as if I am going to tell them my new bank details and employment address and phone number  ooohhhh I am raging!!! I know I had the money, I know I spent it but !!!!!! please be sympathetic to my current situation, I can't afford to pay anymore.

Right at the end of the letter they state that without this info they might still press ahead with the debt collection process!!! I'm that annoyed that I have received this instead of details of them cancelling the ppi on the loan like I originally asked.

I just want someone to reassure me that this is a normal letter and I should ignore their intrusive request and write back asking again for the ppi to be cancelled. CCCS have all my details and you can't bullshine them because you have to send proof of wage slips, other creditors etc.

    thanks

Can I just ask please, CCCS need to see current statements of debts don't they? But at least a couple of my accounts are online only, I don't receive paper statements (my Lloyds bank account and my Egg credit card spring immediately to mind) - so how do I send them a current statement??

I got that letter and I sent them a copy of my Budget sheet and told them that was all they were entitled to and contained all the information they needed to make a decision.

They accepted a few days later.

Could you print a month off from online and stick a post it on it explaining you don't get paper statements as you have to pay for them if you request them. They never ask again think it is just at the beginning so don't think it is an issue.

Yes, I can do that - thanks, I didn't know whether that would be accepted since it won't be on company headed paper.

althea , i was in the same situation, when i spoke to cccs about this they said it was more important that they had the account number and sort code on paper rather than the actual balance.

not sure if this is 100% correct just passing on what they told me, i have since been in touch to clarify the correct balance.

    good luck
  • rayday2 - good luck my friend, im sure you can get through this, i cant offer any practical advice but want to let you know you and your family are in my thoughts.

Remember, CCCS are on your side. They just need the info for a starting point so that they know they have the correct figures and reference numbers. They are not trying to catch you out or find reasons to refuse to help you.

Sorry tressls didn't mean to sound patronising.
Most of the people on here are taking the long journey of trying to pay off their debts rather than opting for other options so I can get a bit defensive! My DMP should last about 9 years at the rate we will be paying it off but with changes in incomes and circumstances in the future, combined with some very thrifty advice from the excellent crown on here (and lots of the other boards - some people feed themselves for less than £10 a week! Not me though!!!) we hope to reduce that dramatically.

A DMP lets you live as well as pay off your debts and as long as you can make some payments each month it's brilliant. There is also a low start DMP which is possible if you have only a very small amount of money available for repayments, but it's not as good as I believe creditors are more likely to play up!

Anway, good luck with whatever you decide to do! Don't let my comments put you off I'm nice really! Honestly! ;)
