i also heard the 4th August rumour but i'm sure it was after lunch ???
The rate was so good that day that the difference made by lunch was not important. Of course, we are talking about 4 August 2007. Anyone who failed to buy euros then should just nip back in their tardis.
Oh: and by 4 August 2008 the pound will have lost so much of its value against the euro that it will effectively be a non-negotiable currency. It will, however, still be possible to use sterling to buy Zimbabwe dollars. And if David Cameron ever walks into number 10, the exchange rate will reach one to one.0 -
Ya cant have a post like this without some input from the bear, after all im the offical answerer of silly questions.
The euro will peek on the festive day of brahma, which is the day before the festive day of cobra beer, which is the 32nd of sept, the euro will hit a peak at approx 15.21, however this rate will only be achievable by entering the post office in gretna green and asking for their "special rate" whilst hopping on one leg and balancing a dead ningerian squirell skin on your shoulder.
In other words use the search facility and rest assured if anyone knew the answer to this question we would be too busy selling our bodies on ebay to to raise capital so we could all become overnight millionaires.
all the best

i have used the travel money maximiser tool thats how i know how rates are everyday like i said. i never wanted someone teo tell me a date or something thats impossible i was simply asking if anyone had heard anything about euro rates changing (as my step dad had heard on news few weeks ago) that is all. and sorry i dont search for ages on site but i have a child that has sn so havent got time. i was only asking a question i wasnt asking for sarcasm. i use forums to speak about other things that have the same question crop up but we dont jump on each other for it0

we are just messing with you - true answer is my opinion only - the euro is strong at the moment meaning you dont get to much cents for your pound - when interest rates fall so does the value of your currency - thats why the pound is weak because of the interest rate cuts this year - the euro hasnt had any! - banks cut interest rates when the economy isnt doing so well - BUT and its a big BUT banks also raise interest rates when inflation is high to stop people spending. euro inflation is nearly 4% that is more than here so in my opinion the crappy euro exchange rate is here to stay for a while yet.
hope this helps.0 -

Havent got time to search but got time to write the above odd that.
Ok the sensible answer is as follows:
yes the euro will change soon, in fact it will change tommorow, however no one can tell you if it will go or down and by what percent either.
By the way you may not have been asking for sarcasm but not asking for it is no guarantee you wont get it.
all the best

The question you asked is an impossible question to answer.
Have you read all the travelmoneymaximiser and the bit about the nationwide debit and credit card and the PO credit card?
I never buy currency, just take my cards and get the bank rate out of the ATM0 -
thank you asandwhen for your answer, and yes it did help. and phat bear theres a difference to having 2 mins to type an answer and half an hour to go through searches. oh and as for not asking for sarcasm i though going on a forum that indicates to be nice to people on here (on forum etiquette) sorry if that made me think anything but. obviously going onto some site that seem to have mainly male users, that is what i should expect. just to clarify my question was NOT asking WHEN the euro will get better or a date that will happen, simply if anyone had heard any news about the situation lately. obviusly you could tell it was a female post whos new and used it to have a laugh together well i dont want to be a part of that thank you very much.0

Please don't take it the wrong way Becse. These questions come up so often (along with when to buy US dollars) that the regular posters - who are immensely helpful - get a bit peeved. So it's become a bit of a standing joke. If you do a search you'll see that.
For what it's worth - I'm glad you asked the question. I laughed out loud reading the thread and was outed as surfing MSE when I'd told everyone I was maxxed out with work this week and couldn't get a report done. But it did brighten my Monday (and honestly, I have got a busy work week!)
So thank you :T :T :T and have a fab holiday wherever you are going0
