    No, no, no!

It was the 8th. I swear it was the 8th! The pound will devalue against the Lira, so causing the price of butter to increase by 247%, leading to an increase in the elasticity of supply of sugar. Therefore it is just logical that it will be the 8th. Definitely the 8th.

I'd hedge and buy half your holiday money in Zimbabwe dollars, the rates of exchange are really good at the moment!

You need to get your facts right, someones pulling your leg, definitely the 4th because the 8th is a Friday...... it never ever happens on a Friday !!!

If you are going down the Mugabe route then I'd go for the Zimbabwian Euro rather than the Dollar, definitely easier to get rid of in Greece as they have a picture of Neil Kinnock on the back which goes down far better in Europe than a picture of Robert Mugabe grinning at you !!

    Good luck

ignore bargainunter, he/she is just bitter at buying their Euro's too early instead of waiting for the big day (they probably got a couple of stray Neil Kinnock notes in with their bundle as well).

...and its a question that gets asked over and over again (by people that don't bother to do a quick forum search or read the currency stickies at the top of this page)

The plain truth is - nobody knows what the exchange rate will do for sure - it may go up or it may go down. Why not buy half now and half just before you travel - that way whatever the exchange rate does you shouldn't lose out.
