well not that i should encourage you painted lady, but the nz dollar is quite weak right now, so maybe start to save? I think we will wait to do south island until it is a bit warmer. I don't 'do' cold at all, and it is pretty chilly down there at the moment. All the adverts seem to be about skiing/snowboarding etc.

Hi Chev......great to catch up with your musings of life in NZ lol......Im glad your got through the horrendous weather thats been striking the country of late....As you know - all my family are still back there and so Im up to date with most of what its been like........will it make you feel a little bit better (or you have permission to even go as far as being mildly smug lol) that here in Yorkshire it has been probably the most rubbish winter of my 44 year life :o The weather is rubbish.......anyway glad to read you have your boxes now and your life is getting more comfortable in that domain.....Good luck as you carry on with your venture and who knows - i Just may be back there in a couple of years if the credit crunch continues :T

Seax thanks for looking and will look forward to an update from the health shop. Just remind me why are you wasting your money in Sainsburys    :D

Kiwi fruit, well the weather in Yorkshire can be dire at any time of the year.

Well today something happened which was one of the reasons for coming out here. Ie lifestyle. There I was 7am, stumbling around half asleep getting something out of the drying area. Opened the curtains, and there in the only bare tree in the garden, was a pair of beautiful parrots. Since identified as Rosellas. They were a lovely start to the day. I was quite excited to see something (which to me) is so exotic.

Other than that not that much to report. Have now got the printer set up and so can now sort out the paperwork to stay here permanently. Wish me luck guys

How lovely about the parrots. It always makes my day if I see a wren or bluetit in my garden, seeing parrots must be a wonderful feeling. Hope all is going well and look forward to your next update.

Hi Seax yes the parrots were pretty special. And the funny thing is, is that they haven't been back yet to show the children. So I guess they were just for me!:D

Ok update time. Well so far the reduced dosage of the tablets seems to be ok. Can't believe I am on my second pack though already, time really is flying. Felt a bit emotional yesterday, ie a bit tearful, but it soon passed. but the knock on effects of this blasted black dog (to quote churchill), are still happening. Went to the dentist here and DS1 had to have a filling  , but worse he has to have one of his back teeth extracted. And quickly so it doesn't shatter instead, so he is having that done Friday. And I know me and OH are at least in part to blame. Because I think this depression was actually post natal when I really look at it. So of course I was looking after DS2 teeth and OH was meant to do DS1's but there was probably 18 months where basically OH didn't clean DS1's teeth with any regularity, and this is the result. It was all i could do to do DS2's ho hum. Still at least now I am on the upswing now.

Other than that we are continuing. DS2 has been to his second birthday party. It is a great idea they have here in that you can hire the kinde for $50 for 3 hours, and so everyone who comes, knows where everything is! Can't imagine a nursery in UK being allowed to do that. Health and Safety and all that.

School holidays for the next 2 weeks so DS1 is in holiday club, but DS2 isn't allowed as they rigidly enforce the over 5's only thing here. So I hope we can find some things to do.....

Right I must go and work out if my printer has done what is should be doing....

And for those who are just putting heating on I have just switched mine off I think for the summer now woohoo.

sidey sid good luck with Melbourne

Seaxwyn thanks for looking the the provamel. I will bug the lady again here to see if she will stock some.

But that may all be a bit moot now.

I am REALLY ANGRY at myself at the moment.   . I got lulled into a false sense of time about doing the stupid paperwork to stay here. Then we found out that I was filling in the wrong form for what we wanted to do - ie extend my visitors visa - so had to start again. Got my medical done and xray and bloods, and all ok, but then faffed about getting the paperwork done. The this week it is the 5th of November and it is like of CARP we have less than a month until our flight back to the UK, and only 6 weeks till my visa runs out.

So today I have taken my completed forms down to the office to save on posting time. I asked the girl on the desk if it would be opened today, but no it has to go through the internal mail which take wait for it 3-5 DAYS like !!!!!!? I said could I take it to somewhere to get it opened today, but no dice, just put it in the chuffing box. How could I take such a stupid risk with our future like this. I am now going to be totally stressed about this and so will OH be when i tell him.

This BLOODY DISEASE catches you out all the flipping time. Oh I will do it tomorrow it will be ok, la la la. And then suddenly it is oh !!!!!! there IS NO MORE TOMORROWS it has to be done NOW. And then mega stress to sort it (just what you don't need)

To top if off it is my youngest's birthday on the 5th December. In order to be here for it we will have to change our flights. I have booked the kindy because he so wanted to have his birthday there. But that means that I will have to flipping organise it ALL. OH doesn't have a chuffing clue what to do and when by, so it will be all down to me.OK i know tha OH is working hard and that and getting up early. But I have already said to him twice that I am dreading organising this, and all his response is is 'Oh' . Like really flipping helpful love. NOT.

Sorry this has turned into such a rant. I just hate how I manage to sabotage myself ALL THE CHUFFING TIME like this. It is SO annoying.

    so feel free to ignore.

    Hi Hun

We of the black dog are always going to be caught short so to speak ---but we mustn;t let it give us cause to berate ourselves too heavily....after all, we are not superwomen (as much as we'd like to be :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ...we are only human beings.)

Stay strong Hun..keep as focused as you can......with a mild kick up the rear as is necessary...but please don;t overdo it.

Thinking of you lots.......and wishing you every good fortune and peaceful moments...

I may have been a but quiet recently..but you is always in my thoughts Hun

    Hi Wol
thanks for the reassurance. I just feel such an !!!! Still I had my perspective helped today, as my older DS got player of the day on his football team, wow can he run when he wants to, and even did a sliding dive to save a goal. Doesn't mind at the moment when the pitches are still soft, but how it will be when they are rock hard is another matter.

Also my younger DS has got such great water confidence now. He is better at swimming under the water at the moment than on it, but it just shows that it will come together soon I think.

So all in all I am going to just STOP worrying about it for now. I will wait a week before phoning them to see if they have started processing it yet. Though it doesn't look good when you have to put today's date on it. That smacks of there being a queue in the post room they are trying to keep staight. Ho hum

thanks for taking the time Wol. Sorry I haven't got on your thread much recently but time flies by as it is. But HURRAY for being able to play bat out of hell now. I wouldn't be able to do that with 2 fully functioning arms, so well done!!

right housework to do so ttfn
