hi Chev - as you say, what a difference a few days make.
Good luck with the new house, and even more - good luck with attacking all those boxes

Hi angel, thankfully still can get bbc on the web over here, so no it is all going down the swanny to put it politely.
I would be careful of putting much store in the BBC - they're a propaganda machine, even worse than the rest of the press.
Things are becoming more difficult, it's just not widely reported.

OK - wrong island . . . but happy you are here, and will check out the whole post later. I work with so many ex-pat Brits and they are always amazed that I know 'so much' about GB, but I learn it all on here LOLIf there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . HI Chev, just caught up with your news - wow, a lot has happened! Congrats to OH on the job, and I hope you all feel settled in the new home soon. Good luck with cutting down on the meds, it sounds as if you have a responsible and supportive doctor too.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Hi all
Hypno yes it does feel better with out stuff out. BUT it also brings home how much [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] merchantable stuff we bought with us. We have a deadline of 21 days to put a claim in with the insurers, otherwise I would be putting a shed load up on trade me to get rid. How annoying is that? To pay all that money to cart is half way round the world, and then realise you don't need it:mad:  .
Len thanks for popping in, I love your sig at the moment.
Seax yes this dr seems ok. As I said I was gobsmacked that she called back in person. I have never had that happen to me in the UK. I think as far as the meds are concerned it is time to try at least. As I said to the doc, I don't want to be one of those people who when they see a new doc in 20 years time have them exclaim 'you are STILL on those WHY?' So I must go and pick up the prescription to get that sorted.
Other than that not much to report. The weather is definitely changeable! If I had a barometer here, it would probably expire from too much work!
I had despaired of being very MSE over here but there are signs of life! We had to leave our dyson in the UK as we didn't think that we could get it through bio security. So went out to buy one here (having looked on trademe/freecycle first of course;) ). So the first two shops had exactly the same price for each model, and the third one. Sigh. So we thought we will do one more shop and then go back to the one that offers points. And lo the last shop had the model we wanted for $150 off! Guess where we bought it!!!!!
Anyway rather than keeping it in its box, I better get on and use it,
so today
1) take washing out of the machine
2) get prescription
3) unpack a box at least:eek:
4)put another wash on
5) use the dyson:D
