    that woman is unbelieveable!!!

I would contact your mobile phone company and ask them to barr this lady's number - and only pick up numbers you know from now on.

you did the right thing by calling your insurance and whatever you do do not pay that woman anything.

Should she threaten you again, call the police and have the incident logged.

    Good luck x

  • What an awful woman! I understand how you feel though, some years ago a woman unknowingly brushed my left front wheel arch, as someone on the left of her lane was pulling into her left side. he drove off and so I stopped and the woman got out. I thought 'now don't get angry, keep calm'. She apologised and I said its ok, just let me have your details and I will give you mine. She admitted liability and although it was a very small dent I saw no problem. Later when I put the details through the insurance she denied liability and then the insurance co eventually found out she was lying and my damage was repaired.

Now I have a mx 5 and when I park on a car park. I park far away from all 'hurried' shoppers so they don't damage my car doors. I have seen many careless drivers and passengers not holding onto their doors when its windy. Sometimes if someone parks next to me when I have just arrived I wait until they get out to see if they damage my car. they look at me as I watch and wait.

Sometimes I want to put stickers on my car doors saying 'Please be careful when you open your door next to mine'

I noticed a dent made by a car door in my brand new 08 plate eos the other week no one left a thing on my car im fuming as its going to cost me atleast £100 to sort out. Fair enough if they held their hands up and said sorry but not a dickie bird.

I cant for the life of me think where it was done as i leave loads of room for my doors because they are quite long!

Strangely, I never heard another peep from the woman and it's been 2 weeks since her demand for £700. Neither has our insurance company.

I am in two minds now - either she's realised (or her husband has told her) that her scam won't work, or maybe I'm not the only one she's pestering for hundreds of pounds! Or maybe she is hoping on a cheque in the post from me!?

If she does report it to her insurance company after 3 weeks +, surely they will wonder why she waited? (Or will she mention to them the demanding phonecall!?)

Since there was no damage caused by myself at all (only her finger marks), there's a chance she hasn't been to a garage at all. I can't understand someone damaging their own car to try and get £700 from a young (tearful!) girl!
  • hope thats the end of it for you - came out of work today, very stressed to find my car in the car park with a dent & paintwork scratches all over the wheel arch where somebody got too close, but no details left - can't afford to get it repaired, hubby says he'll try & t-cut the scratches - it's people like her who increase everybody elses premiums
  • let's hope that's the finish then KK

Sorry to hear about your car virgin moneysaver have had soooo much done to cars, not for a long time thankfully, but it's not nice.
The most upsetting was years ago someone melted a sparkler into the spoiler of my car, that i hadn't had 5 minutes & had a loan for, not even an accident

Over the Easter weekend there was an incident in our Asda car park,it was in our local paper.a woman in her 30s attacked another woman in her 50s over a parking space.Whatever happened to the fairer sex.
Women seem to be so much more aggressive these days.
