Decided to have a long lie this morning after a long day yesterday. Also have spent the morning editing and uploading the potted history of my kitchen refurbishment!
Have posted the link on Where the Magic Happens and also below.
Now will need to go for a shower etc and then pop out to the shops. Had hoped to cut the grass but to be honest I can't be bothered.
Will catch up with you all later this afternoon.

Well a quick squint at the thread.
Thanks for your good wishes, honest I will be fine but I do thank you for caring. I just wanted you to know I am not always able to keep up with things but I do still care.
Belated congrats to Mrs N9 - a wonderful achievement which I know will have been hard work.
Aussie - expecting communication from DH anytime now. He has 2 weeks still in Aussieland before home a fortnight tomorrow. Hope all goes well for your DS.
Scuzz - sorry to read about your hair disaster. Not much you can do about it in the short term but just let it grow back. Annoying I know.
Mioliere - sorry to hear your lurgy seems to be continuing. Things at this time of year always seem to take longer to clear up. Take care.
Hopefully will pop back later.

Eldest DD came this morning and changed my bed for me and took the bedding off home with her to save me having to do it ,bless her she is a good little lass.

Grannybroon what a transformation, it looks brilliant. Seeing all your stuff piled up in another room reminds me of when we did ours the Christmas before last

Moiliere, know how you feel. I have been having sinus problems with a cold I caught. Luckily it seems to have slowly gone of its own accord, not having to resort to the antibiotics like you. Hope you feel better soon
Well, have been out and bought one of those 2 sided fridge freezers with the ice/water dispenser. Wanted one for ages and are now able to replace our old one. Am really chuffed with it, and cant wait to get it home, a week tomorrow.
Other than that am making hobnobs at the mo as the tin is empty yet again. Will clear up and settle down for whats left of the afternoon/evening
Hugs to everyone0 -
Morning all  big hugs to those that would like one

Its bright and sunshiny here, which is nice. OH is entertaining his visiting student, a 17 yo from the US. He seems nice enough, but he won't be allowed to touch anything in OH's lab (they work with human serum, incurable viruses and other really unpleasent gunk). I think they are going to give him a robot to play with. He starts tommorrow but arrived today so is being the given the grand tour of our quaint little town :rotfl: OH is going to a barbeque with some friends later and taking the student with him, I managed to skive because [STRIKE]I would rather poke my eyes out with hot needles[/STRIKE] I have a little bit of work to catch up on.
Had roast lamb for dinner last night which was really nice, but I now have so much cold meat to deal with I don't know what to do with it as well as the other leg in the fridge that will need to be cooked in the next few days. I made some samosas which worked quite well (well, if you don't count the burns!) and will make some curry tonight, trouble is is that I'm so used to padding it out that it feels really wasteful not to :rotfl: Not sure what else to do with cold lamb.
I bought some plasticine, so am going to make some resin moulds to do some casting later this evening - I really miss not having the time to do the arty stuff I enjoy, so I've decided to make time.
Candygirl - that's so sweet of your DD
Ivyleaf - enjoy your hols
Dogrose - well done
Grannybroon - that's a fabulous kitchen!
beemuzed - enjoy you night off cooking
stefejb - good shot with the blackberry :rotfl:
enjoy the rest of the day, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Just popped back on briefly to catch up!
beemuzed - have a lovely evening - i hope your cousins won't be too jetlagged to stay awake!
tired mum - forgot to mention it earlier, but congrats to your children on their Confirmation - hope you all have a lovely time this evening. At our church they always seem to do confirmations on a Thursday evening for some reason
celyn - thanks for the good wishes!
Scuzz - what a shame about your hair, it does sound as if she did it in a bit of a rush, but also you may not be liking it because it's so much shorter than it was. After a week or so you may start to get used to how it looks, and realise that actually it's nicer than you thought - I hope so, anyway. Some years ago when i had long hair, I got really fed up with it and begged the hairdresser to cut it short. She refused to cut much off it as she said that if she did, I wouldn't like it as it would look too different. So she did it by stages over a few months, so i had time to get used to it each time.
Mioliere - sorry to hear you still feel so yucky, hon! Sinusitis is the pits. I read recently about a thing called a "neti pot" which is used to wash out one's sinuses when they get blocked - I think I might invest in one if I can still remember what it's called by the time we come home!
Well, it's stayed dry so i've been able to get some extra teeshirts washed and dried on the line - I decided I wanted to take enough with me so that I don't have to do any washing while we're away. Will go and get them in in a minute and start folding them ready to pack:eek:   Actually I usually put my stuff folded on the bed and DH packs it - he can get twice as much as me into half the space, he reckons it's his Army training!:A
Dinner will be something with mince - probably cottage pie, I think, to use up the potatoes. DS says that if I can't face washing up he'll do it while we're away - especially as my darling DD1 has given me her DW, though it needs to beplumbed in yet. DS says he'll do that while we're away too! It'll be bliss to have a DW, as some days I can't manage to wash up, then there's more to do the next day:eek:
All for now, we come home on the 26th so will "see" you all then!
Best wishes

Hi there - thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. IVYLEAF - the neti pot sounds interesting - I'll see what I can find out about it. I don't think I've got sinusitis itself; having had that three times before, I know how bad it is - I think it's just a blocked up feeling which I hope will start going soon. Have a great holiday, by the way!
I'm just about to have an early bath and settle down to watch a bit of telly so I thought I'd come on here and wish everyone a good evening.
See you all later.
