Morning all, Plan to have an easy day pottering in the garden, so sunny here. BM on as the loaf I did yesterday was gone in a flash. We didn't have a bbq as DD2 was baby sitting and DGD's BF had to be home early, but still had a great day.
Pork roasting in oven, DH is preping the veg. Have some spinich from DF's garden. We're looking after there place as they are on hols. I always do a full roast on Sunday even though it's for DH only. We cook enough so he can have it tommorow as well, saves on gas. I'm having fish and salad.
Will meet friends at our local for lunch drinkee-poos, our regular weekly treat.
I will phone the couple who viewed the house to-let yesterday to let them know they can move in. They have a 5yr old and 1 on the way so feel they need it more than the other couple who don't have kids, although as DH pointed out there will be more wear and tear. But I said they will have no probs finding somewhere.
I started knitting again after being unable to for nearly 3 weeks. I managed 6 rows last night, so another premee hat on the way Mioliere, making a total of 7. Have a good day everyone, Huge Hugs to those in need.
Special thoughts to those who don't have their Dads here to celebrate with.0 -
Morning all :hello:
Thanks for the welcome Squiggly Diddly - like I said yesterday -this is such a friendly board!
Not much planned for today as I need it to be a NSD and NPD, so a good one to catch up on housework and filing, and the garden too unless it rains like it promised to.
Had a nice dinner last night - batch-cooked some mince with various available veg - last night it was savoury mince and rice, today it's going to be a cottage pie, and tomorrow it may get some tomatoes added and become a bolognaise! After that I've run out of ideas but I'm sure something wll spring to mind-maybe add some potato and make some pastry for a meat and tattie pie???? Anyway - all from £1.39 of mince can't be bad!
So enjoy your Sunday everyone! See you all later!

Morning folks,
A robin in the garden is going nuts at the cats, must have a nest near by.
Ironing already done, swept the kitchen floor and had a bath and washed my hair!!!! been on a well known auction site, I have a bid in for a greenhouse, I blame the 'show is your gardnes thread' on the green board!
For the rest of the day, sort out pond pump as weeds seems to be blocking it yet again, cut the lawn and weed round.

morning all,
Another bright and beautiful day here, we are off to a local country fair today, its normally very good, loads of stalls selling plants, junk, books etc, and a WI tent, food demonstrations, dog show, veg show, a huge steam rally thing and fairground, it covers miles and is always a good day.
So not a lot of OS going on today, my mum bought my dad some XL t-shirts from lidl, which are far to small for him, so she gave them to me for OH, and they are too big for him  , so I have them in the wash on a boil trying to shrink them a bit, they will be hung out and I think that will be it for today.
We will have quiche salad and new pots for tea when we get back tonight, something nice and quick.
Need to pop in and give my dad his card, they are coming to lunch next week, as they are going out with my sister today.
Hope you all have good days, hugs to smoky pen pin, candy's dad.
Kathy hope you feel better xx
welcome to poppyoscar, what about a chilli ? xx
And happy fathers day to any dads on here xx0 -
Good morning! :hello:
In a bit of a rush, as have to get ready for church in a mo (and don't know what to wear, as i don't want to wear any of the tops I'm taking on holiday
) and then got to get stuff ready for packing. Will have to do it a bit at a time. I've got plenty of books to read, having raided the library yesterday. Also bought the Lonely Planet phrasebook as I saw it had a big section about food (so handy for when you don't understand what's on the menu, which was how I found myself eating kidneys on our first French holiday many years ago
) It even tells you how to ask "Are you sure that wasn't horse?"  There's even a section about sex, which will be useful should I ever want to say "Easy tiger!" , among other things:o , in French - I recemmend having a look at a copy in a bookshop, it's hilarious and they must have had great fun compiling it.
I won't be able to post tomorrow as we'll have to be up and away early. Thanks for the kind wishes I've had, you're lovely:)
Belated Happy Birthday to Miss Haribo and Miss Haribo - hope you have a nice time today.. So sorry to hear about your cat, Haribo (((HUGS)))
Chrisca - Belated Happy Anniversary! We've been married 35 years tomorrow - DH wants to know why he doesn't get any time off for good behaviour:p
Poppyoscar and any new posters I've missed - welcome to the Daily Thread, nice to meet you:)
Beth - glad you had such a lovely day yesterday, you really deserve it! i think it's great that you're letting your house to the couple with (nearly) two children.:A
Mioliere - so glad to hear your DS is feeling better. Now you just have to get yourself better!
dogrose - congrats on your results!:T
Heavenleigh - congrats on the birth of your gorgeous little girl:T
Anniestar - (((HUGS))) I do hope you are able to get help for Phoebe from the Animal Hospital.
Penny_Pincher - glad you're feeling a bit better, have a nice day.
Stefejb - commiserations about the BlackBerry and well done for chucking it at his head! Good result for Holland against France, wasn't it? We'll have to remember not to mention the football while we're in France, instead of not mentioning the war:D
DD1 has got her Dad a superman mug with "Dad" on it, and a brilliant Lego model which can be made into a steam engine, a traction engine, and something else i can't remember, so that'll be something for him to do it we're stuck in the caravan on a wet day:D and DD2 has give him a lovely mug with photos of the DGCs on it! We really don't need any more mugs, but it was a lovely thought.:A
aaaargh, must go, it's almost 10 o'clock and thanks to coming on here I'm still not dressed:eek: and got to leave soon!
Love to everyone, hope you all have a good day, and special (((HUGS))) to everyone going through a difficult time for whatever reason.
Best wishes

HARIBO hope you have a good day for the twins birthday.
HUGS TO ALL WHO WANT ONE ESP. SMOKEY, PENPIN, MIOLIERRE, SUNNYDAY, GRANNYBROON, CANDYGIRL AND ANYONE I'VE MISSED.
It's lovely here. Went down to the airshow to see the flying yesterday with DS. Found a really good spot on the cliffs, away from the funfair. Only spent £3 on drinks in the pub on the way home so was really pleased
. DS is not keen on funfairs anyway.
DS has got a birthday party later and have promised my friend I will make 24 fairy cakes. Then we're out to Pizza Express later for tea.
Off to hang the washing out and get cracking.
Have a good day all.

Swanage >Crowborough > Hemel Hempstead with trips into London >Diss >Wallsall > Burton on Trent > Runcorn > Wakefield > Batley, with a trip to York > newcastle >Akeld on the Northumbrian Border >3 weeks in the Yorkshire and Derbyshire days> Leave the van in Runcorn. A quick flight back to the Lyndhurst to look after a friends restaurant. Another flight up to Manchester to pick up the van at Runcorn > Two weeks in Scotland visiting Aberdeen and the surrounding area.
So lots of knitting for the wooligans. I can just picture a pile of baby hats in the back.
Anyway lots to get ready so Congratulations to all those celebrating and very special gentle thoughts to all those feeling sad, lonely , poorly or just a bit down

Morning all
Don't normally post on Sundays, but have a few minutes, so thought I would say hello. Been to two car boots this morning, but only bought a few bits and pieces. I bought some lovely fairy wings for DGD, she is only 10 months old, but will hang them up in her bedroom.
Going to the crem in a few minutes, it's Fathers Day, so will take a card for Dad, and it would have been Mum's birthday on the 20th, so will take a card and some flowers for her. Will have to put a warm coat on as it is like Winter out there this morning
Spent yesterday shovelling topsoil (well, I did a bit and DH did the rest), so am now the proud owner of two raised beds for veg. Bought some cabbage plants this morning, and have leeks, parsnips, carrots, beans and peas to plant
Have a good Sunday everyone, and Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out thereYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever
