Being harrased by 3G

In the past 2 days i have been receiving sales calls from 'representatives' of 3G.

Each time i ask if this is a sales call, each time they say no, each time i say no thanks please don't call again.

I have the preference phone thing, ex directory I don't get sales calls apart from them.

I am not a customer of theirs and by the way they have been i never will be.

The never ask if it's ok to talk to me (they also know my name!!)
and last night they called after 9pm.

I am seriously annoyed by them, i tried calling them and they said that it wasn't anything to do with them and there is nothing they can do, yet the calls i got were call centres from India, and 3G's call centre is in India,

Today i called into one of their stores and asked them to stop, they denied it was them, was very unsympathetic.

Help what do i do, I am sure they are breaking the law

Getting called from India is hardly proof the calls come from 3.

When 3 do ring, they use an identifiable number which you can ring back and definitely is from 3.

It sounds like you are being called by another retailer who cleverly sounds to you they are from 3.

The TPS can't stop anyone calling you from India.

    Why not ignore the calls?

I'd be interested to know if you are with T Mobile. Its not their fault - as such, but some companies get hold of all our info as it is sold on. Then you get the idiots selling rubbish deals etc. and posing as T Mobile too.

You'll get the idea from reading the aforementioned link. Please feel free to write to the various authorities, Ofcom, Oftel & FSA etc as recommended on page one or two of the thread. :D

I agree, ignoring is a good idea - but if it is who I think it is, I could be wrong as its not good to assume........ they don't let up. And it really kinda grinds you down. Persistence is their first name. I have heard that you can get certain numbers barred from calling you? You have to call your provider or something... perhaps someone else out there knows more.

The harrassment is really not good for the nerves and it also blocks your line from taking calls that you do want!!

I can't ignore the phone when it rings because my phone doesn't display numbers.

yes my next step jeannieblue is to call my phone provider and see what advice they can offer me,

I just find it annoying that some company won't take no for an answer

I'm with O2 and am happy with them.

I'm sure that the provider can somehow block calls. No doubt you have the number. I'd love to know what it is.... :D

    Then they aren't from 3.

    3 don't call themselves "3G"

And they don't hide their number

After speaking to 3G in the shop today they said they don't have a HQ phone number....

I just think its carp that a company can be so persistent pretending to be something they are not, and not take NO for an answer

http://www.3g.co.uk/3GHomeAboutUs.htm the phone number here is the only one i could ring, and that was a waste of time

But the OP plainly said that their phone didn't display numbers.

Which makes me now wonder, I'm slow, its late, how the provider can block the number if they don't know what it is........... could be a problem there.

I'm off to bed - hope you get it sorted.
