  • Hi I have been off line for a while so was trying to catch up on whats been happening while I was away and I came across this thread so I have to have my say, I am proud to stand up and say I have a pair of bright pink disney crocs with mickey mouses all over them, they are the most comfortable footwear I have ever come across, I can walk for miles in them and as I have knee problems thats no mean feat, (excuse the pun lol ), they def dont sweat your feet as there is plenty of ventilation holes in them, I know and understand that they are not the most fashionable of footwear but in my life comfort comes before fashion. :rotfl:
My GD aged two is fascinated by them and spent so much time trying to wear them and calls them granny shoes so her mum had to buy her a pair of pink ones to match my "granny shoes" she is all proud when me and her have our matching shoes on.

I have problem feet with hammer toes and could never find comfortable shoes until I discovered Crocs. I wear them nearly all the time - Caymans for summer wear, black Mammoths for the winter and black Georgie wellies for walking the dog and gardening! Now my feet are spoilt and I find it very hard to wear anything else. My chiropodist approves 100%!

My crocs got worn alot - although son disapproved - says they are 'chav'. :o

My third toe on left foot is not bothered by them at all now. I must confess that due to son, only wore crocs out once and that was when went walking on beach and around the sea caves - they were great cos I could go over rough ground, pebbles, sand, in and out of the sea with them on. Although did slip a bit on some rocks - but then so did everyone else. :D

I wore them all around the villa, when I was in and out of the pool (very necessary as v hot), great to put on when feet wet and ground boiling. I've not put them on since been back, they have gone an odd shape from being squashed in the suitcase and am hoping they will still be comfy!

Having seen posts above for the Ugg sandals- tempting, but am broke now...

What do mammoths look like?? They could be the answer for me at work in the winter when am clambering around in the workshop - but ok for the office to? Are they warm, cos does tend to get draughty in the office too.

Not want to think about winter. What is all this stuff that has been leaking from the sky? I've not been used to it over the past couple of weeks.....

Ooh I love my mammoths - they are warm and cosy and so very comfy. I bought black because I suspected that the furry inner would soon get very grubby and I'm glad I did. I struggled a lot to get the inner out for washing and in the end I washed them all in one unitm which worked fine.

They look just like the caymans except they don't have a back strap.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I've seen a pic of the mammoths - they look a bit like old fashioned slippers, no disrespect... but what sort of trousers etc do you wear with them? I agree that they look comfy and cosy - but think I may stick to my Emu boots - tho did find it a problem to find trousers/jeans that were slim enough to fit in them.

Heavens, I'm just back from hols, its July, and am worrying about winter clothing!!!

    Well, I caved...

I ordered black Sassari's.... I love my caymen's, and I have a pair of Prima's as well that aren't so comfortable owing to the fact you have to have elfish feet to wear them :D But the Sassari's should look lovely with my summer dresses and jeans.

I'm not so good with heels these days - touch of the Arthur Itis etc - do they have grippy soles? Wonder if I could cope with them, they look lovely.

I think I'm going to have to give up on my croc-alikes. Have tended to wear them in bursts - few days on, few days off - and mostly round the house. A few weeks ago I was getting a LOT of pain in my heels, especially first thing in the morning (and I am not looking for advice on what it might have been or what to do about it!). It's been better lately, but yesterday I wore my croc-alikes again, and realised a) my knee was hurting and b) my heels were hurting!

I don't know if the knee thing is just because I am completely unused to wearing backless shoes, or if they just put my feet and knees at a funny angle. But I'm NOT going to take them on holiday, or wear them again before I go, and I'll give them another go on my return. If it happens again, that's the end of it.

Sad, because I did like the colour and there were things they were very practical for!

Funny you should mention hammer toes. I started to have problems with an odd looking 2nd toe (counting from the big toe) last year and the GP for ages thought it was disclcated or even broken. They now think it is a hammer toe and although it isn't usually painful it can start to hurt when I wear my sassaris for any length of time.

I was oK in the winter when I stored the sassaris, but it has started to get that horrid 'stuck' feeling again now that my Sassairis are being worn a lot . The gP advised that I wore different shoes every day for a while just in case one pair of any description was aggravating the pain.

I get no pain or problems at all though when I wear the normal crocs although I do struggle to walk long distance sin flats as they hurt my legs and back and prefer the Sassaris.

I just wear boot-cut trousers with mine and don't think, once on, they look any different than the Cayman.

No offence taken, but you won't put me off them even if I do look like Granny Groves in them :D

They do look comfy - but as get major draughts at work, think for the winter, may need something that goes higher up the leg.

    Savvy Sue...
Get rid of croc-likes, they are made from cheap plastic, can't be healthy. :D
