Back to the crocs, I'd read about the practical side of them, etc, and that is why I started the thread. Now they are seriously growing on me (not literally) and I like the colours. If they turn out to be as good as they sound, then i will get some more - I've already ordered some pink ones for my hols - sorry to disappoint you!!
It makes me smile when I read posts from people who think Crocs are 'disgusting' - they've obviously never tried them on. For comfort there's nothing like them anywhere. I have seriously [STRIKE]sweaty[/STRIKE] er, hot feet and Crocs never smell, no matter how long you've had them on. The Mammoths, however, don't have that bonus (you have been warned!).
The only down-side I have noticed to Crocs is that I get an electric shock from the car door when I first get out of the car. It only rarely happens when I'm not wearing Crocs (a rare occasion in itself) but it's almost every time when I'm wearing them and it makes me jump every time
Crocs may not be glamorous (though the glamorous do wear them) but they are comfortable, practical and in lovely, cheerful colours...........who cares about the miseries who poke fun?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
i've got these crocs....

and they are the most comfortable 'heels' in the world. Taylorshoes.com only ever put $20 on the customs label too!!0 -
Not sure if it's been mentioned (far too lazy to read through all posts), but the NHS banned them a while back as they produce static electricity that could endanger the lives of patients on delicate equipment:

So if you don't like Crocs you're a misery? My niece works in a very trendy shoe shop and they were one of the first places in the UK to stock them when they came out years ago. She had several pairs, and most members of her family bought some and when I was there one weekend, her Mum lent me hers to try.
I honestly thought they were nothing special in the way of comfort. I think they actually encourage feet to spread and I do prefer having my toes uncovered rather than enclosed. I have WAY more comfortable summer footwear than Crocs.
Whether they are "in" or not, would not tempt me to buy them either but however comfortable they are, I prefer to wear something more individual.0 -

Not liking something doesn't make you a misery.........I said the miseries who poke fun!
I also don't think that liking Crocs and finding them comfortable and practical makes me less of an individual!
Earlier this year I had a holiday which covered many thousands of miles. Without my Crocs I don't know what I would have worn on my feet as they swelled to a ridiculous degree and there was no way I could have worn anything 'normal'.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

By 2003, Crocs Footwear had become a bona-fide phenomenon, universally accepted as an all purpose shoe for comfort and fashion. They are committed to making a lightweight, comfortable, slip-resistant, fashionable and functional shoe, which can be produced quickly and at an affordable price to their customers.

I kept trying 'genuine' crocs on but could never find a pink pair big enough for me. So I had to buy a cheapie pair when I found them. I find them surprisingly easy to wear without the strap at the back: haven't worn 'mules' for years.
But when we are in the USA on holiday I will see if I can get the genuine article. The boys will be thrilled ...
Wondering if DS3 would consider a pair for Glastonbury? He turned up his nose at the idea of sandals, and is ambivalent about wellies!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Note the post recommending Taylor shoes, American.... I've paid £29.99 for my 'shocking pink' crocs. Then saw that same 'shocking pink' crocs from Taylor shoes, were $29.99..........I kept trying 'genuine' crocs on but could never find a pink pair big enough for me. I shall be looking out for them when we're over there, but I would not buy mail order before I've tried the same style on. I have funny feet ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Each to their own! I personally haven't got a pair, and don't plan on getting any, but I remember well the first time I saw someone wearing a pair...I thought they'd taken a some scissors to a pair of wellington boots

Presumably some of you drive in these? Any probs with the shoes slipping on the pedals?
