Crocs - good for you?

They look and feel real but just the basic styles - not the posh sexy ones .... Lovely place/people would go backSealed pot challenge 822

I cannot BEAR the things!! I have never seen anyone yet who looks good in a pair of Crocs. They look cheap and nasty (yes even the "genuine" ones) and I hate seeing whole tribe families slopping around in them. Babies, schoolkids, pregnant Mums right the way up to 80 year old Grans. Repulsive!!
I was in a shop the summer before last and this poor chap was being forced by his wife to try on a pair. She had some pink ones on herself:eek: . He opted to try navy ones on and he kept saying "I don't think so". She said "Look, you are NOT going on holiday wearing leather sandals again. These are really "in" so you're having a pair." He rolled his eyes at me and said to her sheepishly "they might be "in" but if I can't walk in them, what's the point?"I couldn't bear to watch any more, so I left but I often wonder who won!!

I could just about force myself to wear a pair of the Croc pump styles ... in the garden or by a pool maybe.0

I absolutly HATE them and was determined not to have a pair but as soon as we got th Sjarm and walked into the sea realised I needed some shoes to wear in the sea (lots of sea snakes as fish spawning at the mo) and sharp coral and sea grass so went and bought a pair. After getting them I didn't take them off all holiday - though I have popped them in the case for next year cos I won't wear them here !!!Sealed pot challenge 822

I had a pair of ugg boots (note that I didn't say UGG-capitals and all that trade mark lark) sent to me a few years back from my cousin in Oz. How comfy and cosy where they!! They weren't 'fashionable' then. And the trademark UGG hadn't been 'born'. Ugg in Australia, means sheepskin boot, not a trademark name. I got some EMU ones that were cheaper for last winter and they were lovely, warm and kept me in alot of comfort at work for the first time in years!
Back to the crocs, I'd read about the practical side of them, etc, and that is why I started the thread. Now they are seriously growing on me (not literally) and I like the colours. If they turn out to be as good as they sound, then i will get some more - I've already ordered some pink ones for my hols - sorry to disappoint you!!
I'm not a 'chav' - but I do happen to live in that countyGenie

When DD got a pair of uGgs (a la colleen) he was gob smacked that "granny boots" cost that much.
As he said "when my nan used to wear them they were cheap, I wish I had bought loads then & kept them":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Its true tho - the 'un trade mark' ones that my cuz sent me were under 20 Oz dollars, very original Pamela Anderson ones (they are surfer boots - keep feet warm in winter or cold like when wet, but keep them cool/warm, when it is hot), i wore them under jeans - not glam. Was a bit self conscious, wore them out almost, then they became fashionable and the trade mark was born. They are great tho - sadly the brand name ones aren't made in Oz now, generally China or somewhere. But to be a true ugg, they have to be made from pure marino wool. Bit of info there. Useless really, but there you go.Genie
