So much seems to have been going on since I last posted on here.

Moneywise until the end of this month myself and my OH have tried 100% money sharing for the first time and it has actually worked quite well. I am the spend thrift and he is the sensible one so he has been in charge of the money. It has been wierd having to run any purchases at all past somebody else but it has really cut the really wasteful stuff out.

Hmmmm, one thing about this money saving. I have started appreciating the things I already have a lot more instead of just going out and buying more things.

Have you started setting up the nursery yet?

No, not yet. We have just finished downstairs short of soft furnishings etc so the nursery is the next job. We have OH's parents coming next Friday and they are going to help us decorate it. As I am having a girl I have picked the mamas and papas roundabout wallpaper (pink spots) for one feature wall and the rest of the room is getting painted white. We are going to get a pink carpet and then the nursery furniture is white. I can't quite decide on a bedding range yet but basically it will be pink and girly LOL. My moses basket and changing station for downstairs is Millie and Boris as my downstairs is very neutral and that is where they are going.

    Another Sunday is here :j

I like Sunday as it is often the quietest day in my week when I get to chill.

Hope everybody has a good rest of the weekend.

In a cheerful mood, although strangely not sure why as we have loads to do this week :j .

One more day until payday. x

  • Yay, pay day is here!

Aiming for a zero spend today as have stuff in for lunch. Me and OH have actually for the first time ever sat and planned our finances for the whole month together. Since we have started acting in a joint way over our finances we suddenly seem to have stopped falling out over money as often. Ta MSE for helping our relationship  .

I ended up really flagging at work yesterday afternoon and was in bed by 9pm, actually feeling a bit worried about how I'll go on over the next few weeks. I don't have as far to drive today, so hopefully today should be OK.

Goals for when I get back home today:
    - Sort out my mobile phone cashback before I miss it!
    - Get some clothes washed!

SOA is looking fine. I would say you might have to factor in a little extra for groceries once baby arrives. I have a poor milk supply and littlest pixie has a poor latch so we mix feed. That costs around £7 a week for formula. Nappies are another £5 ish. Littlest pixie will be cloth bummed but at the moment she is too small so pampers new babies it is.

I have a savings account for her already LOL, made 3 payments of £25 a go so far. It is one of those Halifax 10% regular savers. It might not be much but I am thinking if we carry on putting in what we can by the time she is 18 and either needs a house deposit or is off to uni there will be some there :o .

Just had our fridge collected, which we sold on ebay. It went for the amazing sum of ..............................................99p

I suppose it is out the way though.
