Has anyone made any of the envelope scrap books? I thought this would be my best bet at making a scrap book, well trying to, and was just wondering how easy they are to make.

I am sure one of you lovely ladies will know where I could find some rustic old looking papers? The scrap book I am attempting to do is of my mum's life, so want to start it off old looking and then bringing it into todays world, if that makes sense?

s-michaels - I have never made one, but I've seen a few tutorials and they look fab. I'll get my thinking cap on for some rustic papers.

They look and sound quite easy to make melissa but because I've not made one before I am a bit nervous. Was thinking of doing a small one using C6 envelopes of a few photos of my nephew for his mum. Then if that works I can make a bigger one for my mum.

OH has told me that U2 are going to be at Wembley in the summer and maybe we could see if we could get tickets, I've loved U2 for years and when I was 12 wanted to marry Larry Mullen, the drummer :p[/quote]

Oh Rainmac I also love U2!! I looked at prices for tickets last week but that was for paris, it was so expensive, apparently they are coming to Cardiff!! Not seen any tickets on sale yet though!

Out of curiosity do any of you sketch out a plan of what you want to do for each page or do you just get straight into it with your photos and papers?

    Hello!
Hope some clever person out there can help me!
I'm getting married in September and want a little book on each table which we're going to write little anecdotes about all our guests, table by table.

I'll need about 8 pages in all - and would like it to look tasteful. Have looked at this link below and kinda like that, but would prefer something more rustic perhaps? I'm more than happy to try and make something myself, but wouldn't have a clue where to start. There are a couple of ideas on ebay (.com in USA), where they do little books made out of paper bags, and punched so you can bind with ribbon, which I quite like!
I know you can buy lovely handmade paper, but am on a really tight budget, so any suggestions greatfully received!! (my colour scheme is ivory, cream and subtle baby pink btw)

I hope this makes sense to someone!

  • Melissa75 Aww, im glad you had a nice night :) Yes please share your binding experience, it certainly sounds a little complicated but if i can get it right its sure to save me money.

Mshelsbels That sounds lovely :) Have been looking for wedding things for a friend, so ill find some links for the nicest stuff. Are you thinking of blank papers, or having embellishments etc on each?

Its such a unique idea! Im new to this too but im happy to help if i can.

Another question, sorry. I wrote a list of the photos that I want to use for my mum's scrap book, I was going to do a photo per page but I have 43 photos I want to use!!!

What's the most pages anyone has done in a scrap book, will It be to much if I made it 40 pages as I can take a couple out but I don't want to miss anyone out

Maybe what you could do is look at the photos and see if you could pair any up or maybe do 5 over a double layout etc?
