Rusty - I think the mirrored effect looks great. Not plain at all - it's my kind of page!
Is your lettering (for School and also the Feb 2010 above) die cuts? Or stickers? If they are die cuts, what font are they? I love them.
I'm getting a Big shot in a week...going to Farnborough Make it show on Saturday and if I don't get one there I'll be ordering a BigShot online when I get home!0 -

Thankyou
The lettering is actually cardstock stickers by papermania, they are called alphaminis, I only bought one pack (£1.99) and have used them on the last 3 layouts, still have loads left but want to buy some more in other colours!! I do have an alphabet but I can't get it to cut in the cuttlebug!!
Ooooh you will love the bigshot, I love my cuttlebug but they are very similar :j :jRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rusty - your pages aren't plain at all - I love how you've used lots of patterned paper and layered it up - it looks really effective.0

Hi,
I can finally share my latest project page:
http://cardsbyjones.blogspot.com/2010/01/by2010-february.html
I went to the Craft show yesterday and spent a whopping £120I got a Big shot (from craft superstore stall!), a 12 inch Xcut guillotine, loads of papers (got lots of patterned 12x12s at 25p each which I thought was great), and I got a pizza box full of papers and bits from Scrapaholix. The lady was saying there was a lot of interest in the local area to start up a group so fingers crossed one will happen and I can make some new like minded scrapping friends!
Oh and I got 2 12x12 albums for £10 which I thought was good too.
I also got Go Go Boots Sizzlets Alphabets from ebay last week, so I got to play with my big shot when I got home. It's so cool.0 -
Your wedding album is coming along a treat helping_hubby, love it!
Having sketches really helps us think about what to do with the dreaded 'blank page syndrome'.
Lucky you getting all those crafty goodies, now you can do lots of scrapbooking!I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
qwiksave - I like the layout ideas too. Gives me a few things to think about.
helping hubby - brilliant :T And didn't you get some bargains !:j
Really must make a start on my scrapbooks..........not sure which one to do first -got one for each son and one for us that OH bought me at Christmas.......want to do them as 'family' ones so got a lot of photos I'll have to copy out -when I get around to sorting through them and picking out the nice ones.
Thank goodness I sorted out all my photo albums in some sort of order last year;)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Sorry you had a 'rubbish' birthday helping_hubby, maybe you could cheer yourself up by doing some nice scrapbook pages with your new goodies?
I've put this on the recycled crafts thread but I made a valentine music scrapbook last night made out of old 7" records. I didn't use the actual records themselves, I photocopied them on my printer. I also copied some old record covers too and used them as the scrapbook covers.
Details are on my blog but this is how it looks:
Front cover:
Back cover:
Inside I put black card for 'records' where I will add all our musical memories, lyrics and embellishments:
I just wanted to say what a brilliant idea so different I am in awe!0 -
I am loving Rusty's scrapbook pages, they are fantastic especially since they are your first ever.
Bunbun I cannot belive you managed a whole album for your brother it's brill!
Helping Hubby great pages your Wedding Album is going to be amazing once completed. Where about do you live? I am quite near Farnborough but didn't go, might be tempted next year! Are you enjoying BY2010 and Document 2010?
I have been part of Jammy's BY2010 with you and it has finally got me scrapping! I am hoping to combine the 2 products as I have been following the whole Document 2010 thing really closely on UKS but not actually put much together as yet. I do enjoy it so much but seem to spend ages trying to sort it all out!! There are pics on my blog at the pages I have made so far (tho today's LO has no pics as the printer is out of ink...whoops!)0
