    Ive noticed too, how these seem to be a whole lot cheaper than they used to be. If i remember rightly they used to be about a fiver each or somewhere there.
    I noticed in my Nettos they have them at 47p each and thats their proper price not a special offer.

    I think its good though as it hopefully encourages people to be more energy aware.

    i know in the past ive only bought 1 or 2 lol because they were expensive but ive more or less done the whole house for under £10

    Hi CG
    Very difficult to get the little candle ones too.
    CG:beer:

    If you are having trouble finding energy saving candles, you can get 'Micro Spiral' energy lamps made by a company called Helix.

    I got some from Ebay for £3.99 each, but you can get them fro Toolstation for as little as £3.38.

    You can get em in 5w, 7w & 9w.

    They come in SBC, SES, BC & ES.

    5w = 25w
    7w = 40w
    9w = 50w

    Morrisons and Wilkinsons both carry these as stock items. I think they are £2.99 each though.
    I could do with some R63 type if anyone knows anywhere cheaper than Morrisons. The Phillips ones are £3.99 each at Morrisons which isn't bad but I need 4 of them.

    Hi All,

    Correct - Nettos ones are Phillips and they seem good quality, especially considering the price!

    In our local store, the 20w (100w equivalents) are 47p, yet for some strange reason the 11w (60w equivalents) are 49p! Then again, you'd probably save that 2p quite quickly using the lower powered bulbs!

    All have a quoted life span of 6 years, so really do seem great value for money - Our local Netto had quite a few in the other week and had topped up with yet more yesterday!

    Cheers

    Haven't read thru all the thread but:

    - Aldi had these on special a week ago - maybe some left at 99p for the 60w/100w equivalent bayonets

    - WICKES the DIY/Trade merchants also had a big box of some at 99p when I called in yesterday.

    General Electric 11 watt energy saving Eco light bulbs (6 year type) are on special offer at Tesco. They are only 77p each!
    Barcode number is 043168 132893 if you need it to ask if they stock it.
    These will pay for themselves in no time!
