    Hello all !
Back to the land of 'normality' now baby grandson is winging his way home with his Mum and Dad after having his first birthday with us. Loved seeing them all but it fair wore me out. He's crawling and into everything - for some strange reason he took a strong liking to my empty wash basket ........lol Seemed to prefer that to his toys and toy box I got him..........typical !

Have a good day and hugs (((((((:o ))))))) to those who need them.
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

    Hi everyone,
just stopping for a breather, so far so good, the dw is emptied and the wm too. I think that some of the washing on the line will already be dry as it has turned out really nice and sunny for the last couple of hours but is dulling again now. The second load is almost done so i need to swap some things around and try to get it all dry in case the heavens open.

Triker - congratulations i`d be dancing around all day with a big silly grin:D

The hounds have been for a good walk and they are now both fast asleep but the monster cat is racing around upstairs chasing things that only she can see, it sounds as if there is a herd of elephants up there:rolleyes:
We have sparrows nesting under the eaves so she is normally outside keeping watch but so far no casualties i`m quite confident that there won`t be though as she has never caught a bird yet, not for lack of trying but she has so many things around her neck that make a noise the birds have the advantage as they can always hear her. She does like other things though - bees, wasps, butterflies etc she catches so many and always eats them so it`s a wonder that she hasn`t been stung, she`s almost 9 years old now and is easily the boss in this house. We`ve had 7 dogs in the time that we`ve had her as they were mostly older rescues and she always wears them down and comes out on top:D it always makes me smile when i`m walking back from the local park with 2 dogs and a cat as we get lots of stares from people who can`t believe what they are seeing.
Cuppa time over, i`ll finish the last of the ironing and then make a start on the kitchen.
    Catch up later guys.

Hi all - a VERY tired old gal here who has just come back with the shopping and wishes the putting-the-shopping-away-fairies would drop in! I have skimmed the thread but not really absorbed much. Once I've put the shopping away I'm going to have a quick sandwich and see if I can get a couple of hours of zzzzzzs in.

I know a lot of you have or are getting this summer cold - the blocked nose is the worst bit so I'd make sure you all have some Olbas Oil or Vick's Vapour Rub! (((Hugs))) to all who are feeling unwell.

BETH - hope the stitch removal went well and that your DH's hand is not too painful. It can't be as painful as the mess and the cost your sister has left you with. 3k is horrendous and you probably don't have much hope of her paying it back I suppose?

HARIBO - thinking of you and your kittie.

My mind's gone blank, I'm afraid - and I wanted to mention lots of you. Will come back after my snooze - my eyes feel like magnets at the moment!

    Catch you all later.

    Back again!

Been to the gym, had lunch, and now just gonna list aload of books that DH has just brought back from MILs on the readitswapit site. There are some rather "Old" 70s one's - so dont know if anyone will be interested in them!!:rotfl:

Popped to Asda and they have got loads of Schwartz sauces reduced to half price or more (20/25p)!!!:j and milk as its the last day of the 2 for £2 offer! but I think tesco will be doing it now?

Bargainrzl - did you manage to get yr rice in asda? If not, my branch still had them for 73p, so I can always grab some and put it by for when I see you next if you like.

Am off to my neighbours allotment this afternoon with DD to pick some of their strawberries!! I've already got loads to use up!

I've got a beef casserole in the SC for tea with the yellow sticker casserole veg from asda the other day!! (smells lovely)

but first I need a shower as I'm abit whiffy from the gym!:o :rotfl:

I typed out a huge post this morning but my laptop crashed and I've only just got it going again. Parsley (the cat) was very weak this morning and lay sleeping in the sun. She was clearly worse than yesterday so we called the vet who very kindly came to the house to put her to sleep. The deed was done as she lay in the sun in her favourite spot and we will bury her there tonight. She was a cantankerous old bu gger but she was our cantankerous old bu gger and I will miss having her around the house. Not looking forward to telling the girls when I pick them up from school but their birthday tommorrow should distract them.
Thanks again for all your lovely messages.

We have another baby blackbird (the fourth) out of the nest today and mum and dad are happily feeding him on the decking. I'll try to get another video and post it later.

Well done on the house Triker.
    Happy Birthday Master Jannyannie.
    Happy anniversary Chrisca.
    Enjoy the new car JackieO.
Hope you feel better soon kathy. x

    Take care everyone

Just popped back in to say Huge hugs for you and your family Haribo.
Little Parsley won`t suffer and the end was really gentle and peaceful. :grouphug: :grouphug:
I never knew the name of your little cat but the strange thing is that we almost named ours Parsley too but changed our minds at the last minute.

Hugs to Haribo and her family. What a caring vet to come and put her at peace like that.

I haven't had a lot to do with vets over the years as we only had the one cat, but when she did have to be put to sleep I was blubbing like a baby again after a couple of days when we received a condolence card from the surgery. Dedication indeed.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes everyone, much appreciated.

DD(14) has a teachers training day so has gone shopping with friends.

We pickup DD(19) from Newcastle tomorrow so talked DH into driving me to Lidl for a big shop!

Everything seems to have gone up in price - even there - the look on DH's face when sunflower oil was £1.35 a litre:eek: was priceless.

The front page of the newspapers showed empty supermarket shelves in Spain due to petrol strikes etc so glad we are stocking up on basics.

My eyes are shutting too and I am fighting the urge to just lie down on the sofa for a minute as I know I would fall asleep.

Will make a salad tonight and if anyone does not like it then there is a portion of lasagne left from yesterday!
