OS Daily Friday 13th June
Sunnyday
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 13th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone
Ivyleaf - the weather is a bit dull at the moment but hopefully later will be warm and sunny, i`ve lots of washing to do today so my fingers are crossed:D
I`m waiting for DH to get himself up so that i can go and clean the bedroom but it looks as if i`ll be starting with the bathroom cleaning this morning but i might just have another cuppa first.
I`ll concentrate on getting the whole house cleaned today as i need to get myself sorted too as i`m off out tonight.
Every now and again the people from an old work place have a night out and myself and a friend from work usually go if our shifts allow as they are a great bunch and we miss them. Tonight is one of those nights so last night i rang up to check the time and the meeting place and was told that they are meeting at 5pm  bit early for us but we`ll see how we go, may have to meet up somewhere along the line later. I`ve also nothing to wear so i need to spend ages looking through the wardrobe to see if i can find one of those - not worn this for ages but it still fits items
Both houndies are still fast asleep and look as if they`re going to stay that way for a while so i`d best get a move on and see how many chores i can put behind me before they wake up and demand a walk:D
Haribo - thinking of you and your little cat, enjoy her, she sounds as if she`s in no pain at the moment and you will know when the time is right ((((HUGS))))
Hope that everyone has a good day.
SD

Morning all
Up early as I'm finishing off an assignment for OU - it needs to be sent today so really should be getting on with it rather than applying avoidance tactics and posting on here!! Working this morning then blitzing the house this afternoon so I don't have to do too much over the weekend. Washing machine already on, dinner defrosting, bread maker on -and it's not even 6 yet! Now off to do my weekly clickthroughs on Pigsback then back to the assignment.
Hope everyone has a great dayIt's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0 -
Good morning SUNNYDAY - Good luck with your assignment MISS BEHAVING!
(((Hugs))) to SMOKY, PENPIN, BETH, MRS MIX, JAYWARD, CANDYGIRL'S DAD and HARIBO, the girls and little cat. Thinking of you all.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
I've not slept well for the third night running - despite getting over my cold quickly I wake up with a stuffed nose in the night which then keeps me awake. It's a nuisance because I'm not ill any more, just cream-crackered!
Anyway, I didn't come on here much yesterday - DH and I had to see the accountant early in the morning and the rest of the day sort of disappeared in a non-constructive way, really. DH was in and out all day so I couldn't really get organised and just gave up trying.
Thanks for the good wishes for my DS1 - he is much better as of yesterday. He didn't go to the doctor (I knew he wouldn't if could get away with it!) but it's obvious now that he's had some sort of virus. He hadn't eaten for a week and was extremely tired - not like him at all which is why I was so worried.
Well, today I hope to get my food shopping done - think I need to take out a mortgage to pay for it! I can't believe how expensive things are now; I'm sure some of the retailers are just cashing in on the way things are at the moment because some of the increases are huge. Most of us OSers have done all the economising we can so there's not much more we can do, is there? I've resisted the urge to panic-buy petrol and just put my usual amount in yesterday - although that cost me more than last week! I have decent local shops within walking distance so I don't have to drive anywhere plus I work from home. The only thing I really need the car for is the gym (which I haven't been to this week because my cold has made me tired), collecting the grandchildren from school once a week and doing my main food shopping once a week. If I don't drive every day I can't spend a lot of money!
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good day today. I've just drawn the curtains back and I can tell it's rained during the night but the sun is coming out and it looks very bright at the moment.
We're having not-very-OS fish and chips from the chippie tonight. Our local is very good; we ask for one large cod and a portion of chips - their servings are very generous and it costs under £6 for two of us. Mind you, I could get three meals for that if I cooked so it's not that cheap! But you have to have some pleasures in life, don't you?
Anyway, off for a shower so see you all later.

Morning Chums ,well here it is Friday again, where do the weeks fly by to eh ?.I am up and about early this morning as I decided I'd have an early night and was tucked up by 9.30.last night. But it does mean that I'm an early bird in the morning. The sun is shining at the moment ,but how long for who knows .
I get my new motorbility car this morning so I'm quite looking forward to that. Then it's off to the hospital again ,only 11 more days to go,its slowly going down.I woke with a sore throat this morning ,the first cold I have had in almost a year. I think its all this changeable weather.Still onwards and upwards
Hope you all have a brilliant week-end ,I'm off to my DDs school fair tomorrow,I shall get lots of second-hand books there for my holiday, plus some nice home-made cakes I know I could make them myself but I like to support their school. I am also on the look out for some heathers and small alpine plants for the pots at the bottom of my garden.Low maintainance gardening is my thing at the moment I just want to sit and stare instead of getting backache weeding.<<<hugs to those who need them>>>and a big
to the rest of you.Take care all

Morning one and all, Will be stitches free as from 10.30, can't wait as they are itchy and sore. DH had his hand x-rayed yesterday, in and out in 35mns. We then had a viewing for the house to let, shopped for veg, took loads of stuff to charity shop but ended up buying a ltd ed print in a lovely frame for £10, well it was a charity buy. Got home and had another call to view house so back down we went. Looks promising, her OH want's to see it on Saturday. Fingers crossed.
A rough tally of expense my sis caused is about 3k. Cost of carpets, curtains, furniture, decorating, lost rent, advertising, trips to the dump etc.
Driving back home I waved at friend/neighbour in his garden. DH went to local for a pint last night and was told his wife died on Tuesday. I feel terrible as I was smiling at F/Neighbour. I'll pop a card in his door on the way to Drs. She broke her leg last year and caught an infection but didn't know it was that bad. Rumours of MRSA. The funeral is on Wednesday, haven't had time to dust off the black clothes from this weeks funeral of DF.
Must do ironing, bathrooms, vacuming and dusting today. Smoked mackeral salad for dinner. DD1 is coming tomorrow as it's Fathers day on Sunday.
Don't like F/day since I lost my DDad and DFil. Will plan meals for tommorow don't know what to make, DD and DGD are veggies, a quiche and roast veggies perhaps.
Hugs Smokey, PenPin, Candy girl, Jayward, Mrs Mix, JackiO, and Haribo, and lots extra for those needing one. x0 -
Morning all
Today is our DS birthday, can't believe he's 7. Need to have a good tidy round today, put up the gazebo , take the garden rubbish to the tip and try not to panic. Has a party after school and 16 children coming (mainly boys).
Also need to decorate the house. OH is of course at work and will miss the whole thing  .
Will just say HUGS to all today if you need one. HARIBO and ANNIESTAR feel so sorry about your cats.
Catch you later and have a good day all.

Morning all,
Another bright day here, got a load in the wm, and will hang that out before work, got dinner out of the freezer and into the fridge, salmon mixed with spagetti and holandaise, might even stretch to a garlic bread seeing as its friday
. OH leaves home later today as he has a driving lesson, well today he is having a pretend test with another instructor, so fingers crossed for him, usually on a friday he runs the hover round, amd mops the floor so hears hoping
.
Off to w**k today, I have my month end accounts to do for May, running behind this month, and it is essential that they get done today (according to my boss  ) so I have a busy day.
Then home for the weekend, there is a local scarecrow festival
on at the weekend, which I would love to go and have a look at, might leave my OH there :rotfl: , and on Sunday there is a local huge country fair which I would love to go to, but we will see.

Enjoy your holiday Ivyleaf
Congratuations on the exams dogrose
We were told of a local (council run) sports centre a few days ago where folks meet up to play Badmington and Tennis, and as exercise is needed to get this weight moving, might as well consider the sports we like. These are similar aged (or older:o ) folks, who play doubles:rolleyes: (the courts are far too large for singles these days) 3 mornings a week. The courts are 2€ an hour which is pretty good 3€ if you have floodlights on the tennis, so that means in the high summer you can play when the sun has gone down. There is also a large swimming pool there where the roof goes back when it is nice. Went to find it and the courts are good, 2 red clay and 6 hs tennis courts and about 9 badmington courts. So will be looking into that in the autumn, it is due to ease off for a few weeks now due to the temperatures.
Also managed to get an early half hour walk in, and then walked to the restaurant and back last night about the same distance, so got our hour in then. Need to see if I can get OH out of bed at a reasonable time today.
:bdaycake: Master Jannyannie:bdaycake:
:grouphug: Pen-Pin hope you are feeling a little better today, Smoky nice to see you posting, hope going back to work is OK for you, bosses like that need to be appreciated which I know you do. I hope the "distraction" of working helps. H-J -sorry to hear about puddy-cat, timing not good for your lo's, sure you will read it right. Annie hope for better news for yours today. Jayward , Bethebee and everyone else who needs one :grouphug:
Hope the weather improves for your walk Twink/Kyle.
Jackie-0 - we have made raised beds at the front and filled them with small shrubs, heathers, etc., and now is very easy maintenance. Will take some piccys when I get home.
Coffee drunk, so time to take another one outside me thinks.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0
