Paolo - they're talking rubbish. The front page of the Days Inn UK website still advertises the guarantee. I recently got another free room at Days Inn London Gateway without any quibble, and see no evidence on the website to suggest the offer has changed or been closed. The wording on their own terms and conditions page is clearly UK/Ireland orientated!

Perhaps you booked/claimed through the US website? I would reply and politely ask them to explain why they are offering the guarantee yet trying to wriggle out of it. Refer to the above link, send the details of the website where you found the room cheaper and be sure to include your Days Inn reference number. Persistance and politeness is the key. If else all fails you should at least be able to cancel without getting charged anything.

Been trying to find a cheaper price than these 2 but having no luck. Any suggestions?

Ramada Glasgow Airport is £62 per night (may 26th or may 28th)
Ramada Glasgow City is £59 per night, same dates.

Also got Edingburgh Ramada at 116 on skoosh.com (119 on daysinn) for the saturday night. Got email back from them saying u.s and canada websites only so replied with copy of their terms and conditions from uk site .. still waiting for reply :)

    Hey guys,

Just as warning you need to be careful where you book your stay, see below
    Geneva,

So what you are telling me is that even though this 'best rate or its free' offer is plastered all over your website you make sure that you can find a way out of honouring your commitment? If it is possible to book a hotel via your website then it should be included in the promotion, OR it should be clearly stated on that particular hotel booking page that it is not part of the promotion, rather than the nice big banner down the side of the page stating 'best rate or its free'.

How am I, as a customer, supposed to know that Ramada/Days Inn is not the same company, especially since you are offering the same deal and promotion on Ramada's UK websites (http://www.ramada.co.uk/ ) with a nice big 'Best rate or its Free' advertisement on the front page and using exactly the same wording and layout for both websites. Also Ramada and Days Inn Hotels can be booked from both websites, and when I fill in a claim form at http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInnUK/control/home I get a response from Ramada customer Care, not Days Inn customer care as would be expected if you were not the same company.

This is quite obviously wilful mis-advertising in it's worst form, especially since you tell me that Ramada hotels UK are not part of the promotion yet they also have the promotion plastered all over their UK website.

I will be forwarding these emails, and screenshots of your websites to the ombudsman as the entire promotion is extremely mis-leading. I even read through your terms and conditions before I booked and feel that your are enticing customers to book through your hotel chain and then backing out on a commitment through very clever use of clauses, which the consumer cannot identify as all the information given would lead the consumer to believe that you are the same company. I expect all advertisements on your websites to be amended, and all advertisements on ramada.co.uk to be removed in relation to this promotion, considering that Ramada UK are not taking part in it they should not be advertising the opposite.

I am extremely disappointed and annoyed with this obviously well thought out plan to mis-lead consumers and I will not be booking any nights in your hotel chain again.

    Regards

    Daryl Bamforth

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Your website here http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInnUK/control/best_rate_guarantee_uk states

You can get the Guaranteed Best Available Rate when you make your reservation at https://www.DaysInn.co.uk or by calling 800 0280 400.

If you find a lower publicly available rate for the same accommodation and date on another web site, we'll give you your first night free!

I booked on this site and then filled in the claim form. As such I expect this to be honoured.

    Regards

    Daryl Bamforth

I am sending the whole lot to the ombudsman as this is blatent mis-information.

    And the final insult
Book with confidence at https://www.ramada.com with the Best Rate Guarantee. Enjoy your stay at Ramada.

Has anyone had any experience of booking what Day Inn call a business class room and late rooms call an executive room. I think they are the same room but i'm not too sure. There is a £1.50 difference between the two. Any ideas??
