  • This is a great thread, just got room booked in London Waterloo for nothing using the guarantee. I found the cheaper price on https://www.activehotels.com. I received an email the next day confirming that the Days Inn room would be free. Just got a couple of single rail tickets with Midland Mainline from Sheffield too for £3.95 each! Im looking forward to a v v cheap weekend in London.

    Hello everyone
I have just found this site and followed the tips on how to get a free night. I used the web sites suggested and found a cheaper rate at
    https://www.all hotels.com
When I sent in the claim form they replied that it was a AAA rate and that corporate rates, wholesale rates, affinity/association rates or rates which are part of a travel package which includes more than
    hotel accommodations do not qualify.
When i checked the site again the price for the room had gone up by £4:00! So it was no longer cheaper.
Undeterred I carried on looking, it was a long slog but I found a cheaper rate at HotelDoorman.com this time however, after reading the other comments on the web i thought i might need proof so I enquired if the room was available and received an email from HotelDoorman confirming the price and the room was available.
I then resubmited by claim, Days inn took a long time answering but replied that the room was not available on the date I requested so I would not be entitled to the free night. I forwarded the confirmation email from Hotel Doorman and an hour later received confrimation I would be entitled to a free night!
This was for the Westminster branch of Days inn.

This site is so great I have arranged two nights in london for my two children and myself for £88.00. This includes tickets to see Scoorge with Tommy Steele ( 12:50 each including booking fee for saturday night) I saw the tickets on lastminute.com but they had sold out but the time i went to book them I then used this site to find recmendations for cheap theate seats and found the tickets at londontheatredirect.co.uk

I have also booked a cruise on the thames and the london eye package 50% of on last minute.com for for £22.75 for the 3 of us.

We are staying the second night at the travel lodge Farrington for £29.00

On sunday night we are going to trafalger square to see the Lord Nelson event which is free (again I found this on this site and details on how to apply for tickets.)

I also have downloaded all the 2 for one tickets on the National Rail site for St Pauls, The Tower, and meal discounts.

I hope the above will help someone as much as these above posts have helped me.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

    Hi Emma

It must be the same hotel and same type of room (as earlier discussion deluxe and standard wording would mean your claim would be rejected)
I booked for 3 Adults even though I knew it would be cheaper to book for one Adult and two children because I wanted to keep things simple as I could when I got lower quotes.) Make sure its not a AAA* rated (see above) and you should be fine.
    Good luck

If it doesn't work you can just cancel right?

I'm scared! I've just made a claim and as far as I can see it's like for like, both standard doubles, can't see any specials and the cheaper includes breakfast, so we'll see if it works!

    Fingers crossed.

No need to worry! There's a link on your confirmation email which takes you through to a page where you can cancel the booking - and it's usually cancel-able (is that a word?lol) right up to 4pm on the day of arrival.

Good luck - I thought they'd wriggle out of it somehow, and so was fully expecting to have to cancel the booking. You could have knocked me down with a feather when the freebie confirmation email turned up!
