Have you checked your settings in user CP as the site has been on GMT for me since it switched, but others have reported having to change their settings.

Thanks Curry Queen - I didn't actually change anything, but just looked at my profile and CP and now all is well

I noticed the same things about the times, saw this post & looked at my profile and CP, the time had miraculously corrected itself.
    How wierd!

    Hi everybody :hello:

And especially hi to Ancasta - we were all wondering where you'd got to!

It's damp, dark and rainy again in London, however thankfully now the clocks have gone back I'll have a few weeks of waking up when it's light.

Happy Halloween, though I don't celebrate it myself. I'm supposed to object to it for religious reasons, however TBH I'm not too worried about this aspect given that the majority of people who make a big deal out of Halloween don't really believe in ghosts and demons etc, it's just an excuse for a bit of fun. TBH I'm more concerned about all the unnecessary expensive tat that it lets the shops get away with selling! (Could be worse though. One of my friends just got back from Canada and has got pics on her mobile of piles of rubbish bags left out for the dustman where the bags are made to look like ghosts or pumpkins!)

Used up a bunch of stuff out of the fridge and freezer over the weekend, so I have a freezer full of single-portion boxes and don't have to cook for at least 5 days :j. That's the theory anyway. In practice, the one thing I didn't use up out of the freezer is that pork joint I was asking for advice about last week. I am now under pressure to use it up because it's taking up space in housemate's half of the freezer... Might have to do something with it on Wednesday which is the only day this week that I'll probably be home in the evening.

Just as well I don't have to do any cooking for a while cos it looks like I'm going to have great difficulty sticking to my general miscellaneous spending (what I call my pocket money) budget this week and will have to supplement it with the grocery money.

Have a nice day (it that's an appropriate thing to say when the weather's doing this!) and I'll catch you later!

    Rzl x

  • Morning all, happy halloween!

Well i'm still very sleepy this morning as our new kittem spent the whole night using our bed as her personal gym! We was leaping about all over the place for hours, we didn't really sllep, more like dozed of every now and then.

Well at least it meant I was up bright and early to make my doctors appointment, you have to call the surgery at 8.30 on the morning you want to see the doctor other wise you have no chance! Off to see her later this morning.

OH and I are gonna use a 2 for 1 voucher from pigs back to rent a few holloween style films and have a movie day today. Gonna see if we can get some cheap nibbles to eat while we watch whislt in town.

I am looking forward to seeing all the little ones dressed up trick or treating later on, I wish I was small enought to do it still!

    Have a nice day all!

This happened yesterday, but I had to tell you. I made 'sunday dinner soup' with the leftover veg and gravy. My sons had it for tea, and demanded two helpings, then spontaneously clapped and cheered saying I cook the best dinners. Makes it all worthwhile :)
Today, throwing out sons duvet and going back to old style sheets and blankets cos he wets the bed and i think the duvet must be a public health risk. Cant fit it in the washer. Having a sandwich I froze, crossed off my new freezer inventory, I am emptying the freezer so I can get half a lamb. Freezer emptying means a very cheap week for shopping. At the weekend I got a rabbit for £2.50, and two fresh crabs for £1.80 so they are in the freezer - oops i know im sposed to be clearing it out... - for later in the week. We may not spend a lot but we have one helluva varied diet! ;)
Hm chicken stir fry and bread pudding for tea tonight. Trying to finish off odds and ends of jars because I worked out how cheap it will be to give people HM pickles and dried herbs for xmas, just have not got enough jars!

Have just finished giving DH a bollocking over thep hone for not thinking about things properly. I got a lie in yesterday (will wonders never cease?). Came downstairs at 10.00 to find all 3 sprogs still in their jammies, the youngest 2 hadnt had a nappy change  and NONE of them had been given breakfast. Bearing in mind that it was the first day after the clocks changed their poor wee bellies thought it was 11am. They were starving.

Needless to say that DH was indeed dressed and fed. Sees to himself OK but not his kids.   .

    LOL! :rotfl:

Have had the same thing happen before!!

Yesterday OH 'kindly' said he'd do DD's morning nappy and dress her (recipe for disaster), came in and he'd only dressed her in - guess what? ANOTHER PAIR OF PYJAMAS!! When I asked him why, he said 'I dunno'. ?????

I have A DAY OFF TODAY!!! Since I work from home, today it so happens that I don't have anything to do, just some bits of paperwork.

Sooooo, will go shopping for planned groceries and see what I can save.

Then it's total chillout with perhaps a horror movies, just to keep Halloween.

Well, I know I've not been able to drop by for a while, but it's all changed on here. It took me a day to catch up with the new rules. But, hi everyone! :hello:

Anyway, I've not had much chance so far today to be very old style, but I did have an old style weekend. We're trying to go organic for a while (which doesn't help the debt much but does help the health and hopefully the environment), and I had to get rid of a load of non-organic stuff before starting.

So, at the weekend I made 2 loaves (sliced both and popped one in the freezer), 12 cherry cakes, 18 fairy cakes, and 8 Cornish pasties. We also had a shed base made so we can move tools out of the garage into a shed (when we get one) and start doing more stuff in the garden. We've started having proper Sunday dinners again, and making enough to last us through Monday too. I tackled the ironing Everest as it's cheaper to iron than keep buying new. And I started to knit an arran jumper having completed a fair isle jumper the weekend before.

Today I have a To Do list the length of my arm. I shouldn't really be here catching up, but OS plans today include an organic dinner this evening. (Okay, yesterday we had sausages so didn't have enough to carry over, but only because the date on the sausages wasn't great.)
