    Hi Jvic,

I haven't read your diary before but I've seen you give lots of lovely support to people on the DMP thread so thought I'd be nosey :D .

Firstly congratulations on your engagement :j .

Secondly I had quite a difficult time at the start of our DMP with GE Money (Debenhams Mastercard), it took them almost 5 months to accept in which time they added over £1000  in interest and charges. Once they accepted though they almost immediately passed it to CL Finance who have been no trouble at all. They sent a lovely letter saying that they would accept my payments, and add no interest or charges. They are the only DCA I've dealt with and, after reading some horror stories on here, I was pleasantly surprised.

Take care and enjoy the cinema :T ,
    Sam,

    Thanks Sam,

I hope I can provide some help for people who are in the same situation as me. It's such a worrying time being in debt and I have found this site really useful.

GE Money haven't been the easiest to deal with but hopefully they've given me a bit of a break, even if it is only for a few months.

I hope everything gets a bit better for you. If there's anything you need help with you know where I am and I'll try my best. (and if I can't you know someone will be along shortly who can)

Recieved a free ticket to any film at Cineworld yesterday? Don't know how I ended up with that.

    Woop Woop!

Well I found out where it came from and it was a competition I entered through this site. My first competition win! Strange they didn't put anything in the envelope other than the ticket, but Woopee! Maybe my luck will change and I'll now start winning stuff.

    YaY to the win. :D

Can you update us on the job situation? Did you take the new job - more money, more stress, more hours? :D (just being nosey)

I declined the job offer. I'm sure some people will think I'm being stupid given my current debts.

    My current job

£16,000 pa. No overtime, no bonus and I work every other weekend.
    37.5 hours

    Job Offer

£18,000 pa. Up to £4500 bonus pa. work occassional Saturday mornings.
    45hours plus rota'd Saturday mornings.

However, I have done that type of a job before and practically lived at work and went home stressed. The hours I'm doing now mean I can have a home life too. And as my boyfriend moved 200 miles to be with me and just proposed and we're TTC, I think I made the right decision (I hope).

    :D

yes they are usually scare tactics. when i first had those types of letters and phone calls they really worried me but through this site i have learned a lot more about what they really can and cant do so im no longer worried. CL finance seem to have accepted my payment with no problem. often the DCAs are much easier to deal with.

Well they've finally accepted my payments of £5 for a period of 3-6 months and haven't passed me to a DCA. They probably will in 3 months I know but it's a start.

The advisor said that my payments are Ok as they are not charging my line rental at the moment. I didn't expect them to reconnect me, I just wanted them to be aware of the situation, however the next day they disconnected me completely (now people can't get in touch with me) Gutted!

Well, I wrote to Orange as they have charged me even though I'm meant to be on a free tariff (I'm disconnected) . Sort of backfired though as they've now taken me off the free tarriff and put me back on Dolphin35. The letter they sent me also said I owed them more than I did at my last count so looks as though they've already charged me another months worth of line rental.

Even though the letter stated that they were putting me back on Dolphin35 I have had a statement since with just £7.83 worth of charges on there. Not complaining as such but I would like to know what they are for. 2nd Letter. Grumble Grumble.
