Morning everyone. Doing my best to come on here, but slacking again!
JackieO – heehee, know what you mean about not getting things abroad. You don’t realise until you’re out there. Bf’s sister lives in Austria and when we go there next week, we have to bring marmite, twiglets and monster munch. And when we come back, we also bring proper senf (mild mustard), salami, spec (meat), goulash packets and paprika.
I forgot we were going away (how, I don’t know, but pregnancy does that to a woman) and bought up Tesco for our monthly meal plan. Wish I had a bit more sense as I could have use that week’s food budget for petrol in the car we are hiring. Doh. At least most of the stuff is in the freezer or stock cupboards.
At least I won’t be packing the world’s biggest suitcase like I normally do. There’s not much I can fit into (5 ½ months pregnant) and I’m too tight to buy many maternity clothes.
Last night’s dinner, I tried making lasagne out of the bolegnese sauce I had already taken out of the freezer, but it went a bit wrong. The pasta didn’t cook right (apparently I layered it too much – but if I didn’t there wouldn’t have been enough pasta!).
Today’s menu:-
Breakfast: Nothing (oops)
Lunch: Ham and cheese sarnie with cucumber and toms, monster munch (heehee, stole some of bf’s sister’s stash)
Dinner: Chicken curry, rice for bf, not sure for me as there was only enough leftover curry for one person L
Haven’t done much OS yet today, although had to feed my own dog and cat this morning as the lodger who normally does it wasn’t working today, so was still in bed. Aww, I don’t ask him to do this, but I don’t think he can bear their faces when he gets up in the morning if he doesn’t feed them!
Not planning on doing much OS tonight apart from making mine and bf’s sarnies for tomorrow. Was going to iron, but I am getting such stretching pains in my bump that I am just going to lie on sofa. So if anyone has any tips about what to do about them, I’d be very grateful. Even at work now, they’re really hurting. I think they are stretching pains as right near them, I’m starting to see the dreaded stretchmarks! Noooooo! Bf on other hand will prob be finishing painting our spare bedroom.
Am planning on sorting out our food cupboards as the weekend as I have no idea what is in them and I am looking forward to cooking for just me and bf again. Might even start baking again. Made flapjacks on Tuesday which have gone down a treat.
Managed to get a whole leg of lamb from Somerfield yesterday for £7.96 which I am quite chuffed about. That’s about £2 a meal, although it might stretch further. Roast lamb for me and bf one day, then the leftovers in the freezer ready to make barbecued leftover lamb another day. Yum. We don’t often have lamb as it’s expensive, so a nice treat to look forward to.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Kyle - I've just looked to see where our nearest jdrf walk is but its over 60 miles away, is yours local to you?

Bargain_Rzl wrote: »Just got my Christy towels through the post - thanks again for the tip-off elona! What with the additional direct discount through Quidco, I've paid around £26 for £120 worth of nice new towels (not that I would have paid £120 for them you understand), and that'll go down to £20 when the cashback comes through :j
ok, you've done it now!!!! Where do I look for the offer on the towels????:o0 -
Just spent ages trying to buy towels from Christy's but they have a problem with their web site at the moment and you can only get so far through with shopping basket.
Hope they sort it out soon and there are still some towels left.

Hi everyone!
Been and done a few errands today, paying in money/transferring etc at Ilford this morning and then I went and had a look in the charity shops - was looking for either Bill Bryson or Roddy Doyle books for DH - but they didn't have any.
Then treated myself and DH to a Greggs Steak Bake:drool: DH is finishing off MILs painting before picking her up from the City Airport later today, and I've got the luxury of taking the kids swimming lessons!
Still nothing THAT exciting happening at Shezville to report! just poodling along...
Big hugs PenPincher/tru/mrsmix/candygirl/lindseyann!!
Happy Anniversary for yesterday Mr&Mrs N9eav!
Well done Hillstep:T

Twink - Was thinking of you the other week on Springwatch when Simon was in the Moray Firth with the dolphins! Did your house get on the tv?
