OS daily thread Thursday 12th June

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 12th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all :hello:

I had typed out another post and lost it Grrr
Anyway, did I get my dates correct in the thread today Aussielass? :p I hope I have :)
Having been given a share of DD2 germs with me they have now developed into full blown sore throat and ache all over. Why do I always get whatever is going round?

tea tonight will be a concoction from mince, possibly spag bol or maybe just mince and tatties.
weather here is grey and the sun is doing its best to shine through, but I get the feeling we might see rain today.

Right I'm off now tohave a quick browse, so hugs to all in need, catch you later

    Morning.

I missed yesterday as I was a little busy. It was my 20th wedding aniversary and so I organised the works fishing competition! As you do.

It was a great day, great weather and everyone turned up. So we spent the whole day in Newquay from breakfast to supper. I didn't win, but as the organisor you just hope that everything goes smoothly which it did.

I got home in time for a some quiet aniversary celebration of champagne and cornish strawberries with clotted cream of course.
The OH is busy with her teacher training and so we knew we could not plan a big party or meal during the weeek anyway, so before you all shout at me it was cool.

Wet start today, but we needed the rain. Looks to dry up for today and tomorrow. I am day off, so I will have to clean, tidy and then sort out my paperwork. Need to play catch up really....

    Cheers folks

sun is shining here, but there's been quite a bit of rain overnight and forecast is for showers. might put weed and feed down on grass now. been waiting on some rain as I don't have a hose to water it in.
off to work today. :( working extra this week and next which is great for the bank balance, but not for me ;)
took DS shopping for clothes, but it wasn't that successful. Ended up sending for white shirt from Next online when we got back...but I did go through quidco ;)

edit ..national weather forecast and local news forecast are totally different..might hold off on weed and feed..

    Hello

It seems to be correct ab  :D Lovely blue skies here today. I've got a green split pea soup in the slow cooker today. I noticed the pea's looking a bit shall we say odd :D and thought I'd see how they cook up before I toss them. I've been working on my budget this morning & doing a few chores. Been sewing this arv. My new printer ink has arrived and I must print out all the things I've saved to print now. I probably will need another ink. The joys of Dell copier's. They might be cheap to buy but they make up for it in ink. Never again.

I have DGS tomorrow so that will be lovely. Loved the video yesterday Haribo.

Sunnyday Enjoy your 3 days off.

I'm going to make something with eggplant for tea tonight. It's a new recipe. ;) Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all

Didn't have a good sleep, my mind was buzzing. Spent most of yesterday syudying and finding articles on the computer, sure it's not good for me. Have been up since 5.15 and it's tipping down here.

Today I really need to get organised, DS is 7 tomorrow and I have 16 children coming to my house:eek: . Hope it's dry. Also have magician booked. Need to make a cake, DS wants chocolate fudge cake, organise pass the parcel and not panic.

GRANNYBROON don't know how long you've been on your meds but I hope they kick in soon.

PENPIN and SMOKEY hope you are ok, hugs to you.

Hugs to anyone else who wants one.

    Have a good day all.

    Good morning,
I've been catching up on yesterday's thread and would like to say:
Mioliere, hope your DS is feeling better
Kyle, Candy Girl and Arkonite hope your throats aren't as sore today
Mrs. Mix, could your DD be having probs at school, Bullying?
    Taplady, enjoy your hols tomorrow
R Mac, try some dry toast or crackers, I had all day sickness with mine, Horrible.

DH hung all the pics up for me, looking good. We didn't have to wait long at Coart, DF went straight in and got his papers for going Bankrupt stamped.

DH went to Drs. on Tues, his knuckles are swollen and painfull, Dr. aranged for x-rays to be taken. Got a letter yesterday from the hosp with an appointment for today at 12.30. That must be a record for the fastest app. ever.
Between the 2 of us we have 3 gammy hands/arms. :rotfl: I have my stitches out tomorrow, although movement is limited I can still move my fingers ok so I am able to do the things like painting, framing pics etc. So Mioliere, i'm not doing to much honest injuns. I tried knitting but can't grasp the needle, I hope it improves as I am having withdrawel symtems.:(

Plan to do spag bol as that doesn't involve much chopping or peeling which we both find difficult to do. Best excuse for a takeaway, but loathed to be beaten. Have to walk DD's labs later, at least it's cooler here today.

BM on and some soup ready to go on for lunch. Must take 5 bags of books to charity shop.

Hope it's a good day for you all x

    Morning All

    Happy Anniversary for yesterday N9eav

Its been raining here as well, not at the moment but its still very dull looking, meant to be going to a barbeque at a local cafe tonight. They cancelled it 2 weeks ago so not sure if its going ahead or not. Will wait see if the weather improves then give them a ring later.

Think will try and stay in today and get on with things. Will do housework this morning, swish bathrooms, hoover and wash the floors. Will do some office work this afternoon, I need to be strict with myself as I am getting behind on some things.

Have planned macaroni cheese for the kids, nothing for us but might have to have something in back up.

    Have a great day.

Off to work soon, lets hope today is a bit more peaceful as we had a punch up in reception yesterday.
I've managed to finish the bags I've made for the W.I. stall on Saturday.
I'm doing a mixed grill tonight, to use up all the odd tiny chops & bits of liver & gammon in the freezer & as the last few potatoes are looking a bit sad, I'll slice them thinly with an onion & cook them in milk with a sprinkling of cheese on top, I'll cook it all in the remolska, as my oven door doesn't shut properly.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
