    Good morning all:D

Racing through again this morning, so much to get done.

taplady, I'm with you on the packing. Hate it! can't do it very well and want to take everything ( and I'm only going for a long weekend this time:rotfl: )DH keeps appearing with weekend sized suitcases.......is he mad:rolleyes: I have to take, warm weather clothes, cool weather clothes, rainy weather clothes, spare clothes:o ;)

The gardening went really well yesterday, consequently I was absolutely bushed last night. Cleared the whole back garden of weeds and dead plants, pruned the overgrown ones and dug over the bare bits. It looks heaps better:D ( I should clarify, it's a very very small garden, just in case you think I'm superwoman:rotfl: ) Might try to finish the front later, after I've been to the bank and finished other chores. Managed to do bits of baking, and fished a meatloaf out of the freezer and had that for dinner.

Today's dinner is a mystery. I'll need to trawl through the freezer again for something easy (or I could call in to Marks and Sparks while I'm in the high street. Call it a pre holiday treat:D )

Candygirl, I hope all the contraptions bring your Dad some relief. And as for discipline, well no wonder the little darlings ARE such little darlings if that's being too strict:eek: Of course you should be told what to do to yourself, just laugh it off eh?

JackieO, it's lovely to hear you so upbeat:D It really isn't too long now, and your life will be totally back on track;)

Well, off to fill my day with OS ways, until tomorrow when OS will fly out the window, and I'll be in indulgent mode for a few days:D

    ((((hugs)))) for those in need.

Bright and sunny in Dudley this morning-it wasnt when i first got up,we had drops of rain.Ive done some washing this morning,so i shall peg it out for a bit, then clothes horse it should the weather change again.

I went to see my nan-in -law the other night, even though my hubby did pop to see her, theres only so much a man can help with his nan,so i popped around to see her,to see if i could do anything for her, there wasnt, but a bit of company is what was needed. She did look frail.Shes waiting for her hospital appointment to come through. She has a nasty pain on the side of her hip,but its making her not breathe properly and is in pain and discomfort. But i didnt know till the other day,it has been 8 weeks now that she has waited for an appointment  .When it was time to go,and you give them a hug,it was a kinda like a " last time i might see you hug,and give the kiddies a kiss from there nan " and it felt like that.Bought a tear to my eye, even though, were not sure what the matter is.I hope its not serious.I speak to her everyday as well,so i shall go and see her tomorrow,my mom can have the little one,as shes not up to seeing the kids-it breaks her heart though.

Anyway....Roast pork dinner tonight with mash potatoes, veggies, yorkshire pudding [ i know, but it goes with everything in our house :D ] and ive:D remembered the apple sauce this time.

Hope you have a good Thursday,im off for a cupper and ill see you all soon xxx

    :hello: good morning!

Where's the sunshine gone? Hope it brightens up later.

DH and I both felt better yesterday so managed to go to Bluewater. VickyA I got some Birkenstocks in John Lewis, but guess what - they didn't have any brown ones! Mine are a creamy colour, which according to the label is called "Ice" for some reason

I wanted a couple of M & S tshirts too, but there was too much choice in there iykwim, too tiring to hunt for what I was after, so I'll look in our local one instead. Though even in a big branch like the Bluewater one, it's difficult to find the style you want, in the colour you want, in the size you want:rolleyes:

Catznine - sorry you are feeling so drained (((HUGS))) i hope the haircut will help a bit.

Tru - (((HUGS))) What an awful situation! As someone else has said (sorry I can't remember who:o ) maybe you could find part time work and still do your cards?

taplady - I haven't been to the Seaton area, but I understand it's lovely. Have a great time! I know just what you mean about packing. I read somewhere that you should take half the amount of clothes you think you'll need, and twice the amount of money:D

JackieO - So glad for you that there's not long to go with your treatment and you'll soon be enjoying your G & Ts again! Hope the weather will be nice for the fete on Saturday.

Betheebee - sorry to hear about your DH's hands! Hope the hospital can help him quickly, and that your own hand will feel better soon - i'm sure having the stitches out will help a lot.

Sunnyday - it always makes me chuckle when you have to tell us the weather's not very good, when you've got a username like yours!:D

Grannybroon -(((HUGS))) sorry you are in so much pain atm. At least paying the mortgage off will have given you a bit of a lift.

Anniestar - thinking of you and Phoebe (((HUGS)))

Mrs mix - hope your DD is okay, what a worry for you (((HUGS)))

Tired Mum :hello: it occurred to me I haven't said hello to you lately!:D

    Chalky :hello:

Elona - We had a bill from BG for just over £100 for the year, but it said you could read the meter yourself and phone in with the reading. (We've been paying by monthly DD of £49.) So DH read the meter and phoned them, managed to speak to a person, who worked it out and said very embarrassedly that the bill was in fact just under £500     so in effect we should have been paying twice the amount each month! DH decided to pay it off (think goodness we could afford to) and explained that we have the heating on a lot, as we've both had to stop work for health reasons and get very stiff if the air in the house is cold. So we've now been put on what DH calls "the Kn***kered Old S**ts' Tariff", which is a bit cheaper.

r.mac - hope you manage to have something to eat again today!

Churchmouse - it sounds as if Tuscan Sausage Penne may be in order!

Smokybabe, Penny_Pincher, lyndseyann, Candygirl ((((HUGS)))) and also to anyone in need whom I haven't mentioned.

Pen Penguin - where are you this morning? Hope we'll see you later.

I think I'd better go now and have some breakfast, as I'm needing to correct nearly every word I type

Dinner tonight will be the chicken and roasted veg that we didn't have last night! Will try to pop back later.

    Best wishes

    Morning :hello:

((((hugs)))) to all in need - lyndseyann's nan-in law, anniestar and Phoebe, Penny-Pincher!!, candygirl and family, mrs_mix and DD, smokybabe, and anybody else I've missed.

Just got my Christy towels through the post - thanks again for the tip-off elona! What with the additional direct discount through Quidco, I've paid around £26 for £120 worth of nice new towels (not that I would have paid £120 for them you understand), and that'll go down to £20 when the cashback comes through :j

The concert I went to last night was good, and finished quite early. I had planned to make a risotto when I got home, but when I went into mini Sainsburys on the way to the bus stop for risotto rice, they were selling it for £1.34  That's about double what it was a couple of months ago. Needless to say I didn't buy it, and checked Mysupermarket when I got home. Tesco and Sainsbury's are now both £1.29 (the Sainsburys I went to was a central London one so had a bit of a mark-up) but Asda still has it for 73p, so I am planning to go down there tonight after my ballet lesson and hope they have some. If they do, I will get as many boxes as they will allow. Still, I felt bad for whinging to myself about it, as the moment I switched on the TV when I got home there was a feature on the BBC news about people starving in Ethiopia and unable to afford grain :(

Ballet should be OK tonight, but that's no thanks to the clumsy pillock who trod on my toe this morning on the bus with his full body weight! I'm wearing sandals!

Anyway, must be off now - just got to go and update my grocery challenge spend, then back to work :)

    Love Rzl xx

    Hi guys,

I hope you are all well, hugs to those who need them.
    Anniestar, how is Phoebe?
Pen-pin, Hope you are OK and not in too much pain.
Grannybroom, thanks for the pm, I hope you feel better soon and well done on your mortgage.

Life in the Smoky household has consisted of no more than plodding on the last couple of weeks and I have lost a lot of steam over the garden. The back of it is broken but I need to get motivated enough to go out there and finish it. My brother is taking me to b&q later to buy some plants for the pots so I really need to get a move on today or tomorrow. Before and middle pics are done and I will post them when I have a finished one.

I am back in work next Thursday and then it will be the 3 mornings a week. Childcare is arranged and I can't say that I am looking forward to it but I think that will change once I get the first few days over with. My boss as ever has been brilliant - still paying me my full wage and being very supportive.

I made some bread in the breadmaker yesterday and was very pleased with the results, just a llittle tweaking to the settings for today's loaf and hopefully it will make buying bread a thing of the past. I have ordered an on line shop for tomorrow from Asda and have stocked up on basics - it's time I took control from the junk cupboard and Mr delivery over our diets.

Today's plan is to finish the tidy up, a swift hoover, the sewing mountain, the even bigger ironing mountain and throw together some pasta and sauce for our tea.

    Take care all,

    Smoky. xx

    Morning All!
((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) to all who need them.
    Happy Anniversary for yesterday N9eav.

DS has been collected, he's off the "Download" at Donington Park for four days. Looks like rain though:eek: Given him loads of plastic bags for muddy clothes:rotfl:

Been raining here in the night, suns out now:T

taking Dad to a tea dance later, he's got a better social life than me!

Had the Council Occ Health Doctor on to me yesterday. My Head has asked that I be either re-deployed or made to take ill-health retirement:mad: I refused both. When I'm well, I can do my job perfectly, if I'm having a relapse, I'll be off whichever department I'm working in! She is such a cow. I told the doc that she hates me, and is trying to get rid of me, like so many others before me. The Doc was really good, and will be sending a report stating that there's now reason for me to leave. That'll show the old cow!:T

Anyway, have a good day all!

Smokey - Hi - I always find when I run out of motivation then a trip to the shops gets it going again. (((hugs))) to you and the kids.

Tru - hope you feel better later, must admit wouldnt be able to pay my lot if the bank suddenly took the od away. Hope it gets sorted asap.

Just having a little break, sun popped out for 2 minutes earlier but is now raining again, they havnt cancelled the barbeque yet as there is still time for it to change I guess.

So far have washed mats, cleaned cooker hob, hood and oven (only the outsides). Cleaned the kitchen blinds, windows and back doors - I always love it when the kitchen windows are cleaned - really notices.

Need to send a quick fax then think will have some cereal as am a bit peckish.

Hi all - a very late one from me because DH and I had to go and see our accountant re HMRC's confusing paperwork so we were up and out early.

Have just raced through the thread and not really absorbed much of it. To those asking about my DS1, apparently he's feeling better but I will speak to him later to find out if he's fibbing just to keep me happy! He did manage to play cricket after work so he must be feeling a bit better!

I'm sending huge ((((((((((hugs))))))))) to all who need them until I can catch up with the news.

SMOKY - great to see you posting again; good luck going back to work. Your boss sounds fantastic - she must really value you as an employee.

BETH - please don't even attempt knitting until you are well and truly ready to. Your arms have to come first.

JACKIE - have a great time in Norfolk; good to read your post.

It poured with rain from early this morning but the sun is shining now which is great but this is perfect growing conditions for grass which means more lawnmowing now!

Sausages, mash, onions and beans for dinner - no idea what's for pudding yet!

Well, DH is coming back for an early lunch to I'd better get my skates on - will catch up with you all later.

    Have a great day!
