british gas are always the most expensive and my two plumbers undercut them by miles. so get a local reference

Gasbag...Very admirable ...and yes you maybe one of those Engineers who Examines the job for 20 mins and dosent write 60 mins on the job card...but I am afrai this was another complaint....you maybe right....but ours is a 2-3 YR OLD Potterton boiler...
BUT THE FACT THAT THE MANUFACTURER was ABLE TO FIND FAULT ON BOILER (PRESSURE SWITCH)....AND FIX PROBLEM...basically infers that the two BG engineers are totaally INCOMPETENT...Inept...useless.....or Plain Crooks....I really dont care which....the fact that thy didnt do there job and blaming Water pressure ..... only added pain to the problem...TOTALLY UNORGIVEABLE.....

Well insted of complaining on boards like this why dont you try ringing BG or maybe writing a letter, by the way i think your caps lock is STUCK ON.:rotfl:

We dont have job cards and it doesnt benefit us in anyway to exagerate our job times. OK:rotfl:

Just got a new Worcester Combi, moved combi upstairs, 8 radiators, boiler controller, pipes etc, remove old gravity system, install plumbing for dishwasher and washing machine, change a set of taps for basin sink, insert piping for gas cooker in kitchen as there was no gas connection there and joined two separate kitchen worktop joins with out the metal seals as my builder could not do that and he cut the worktop for sink and connected new sink. All cost £4300 - I think I got a fair deal.

He helped the builder fit the gas pipes for the gas fire in the lounge as he is corgi registered. (done it for free) so I look at that as part or my cost as well een though he done it after my quote.

I have jst had a massive battle with BG and although we did in the end use them as they massively discounted thier price to compensate us, I would use a local engineer. If you use an engineer recomended by Worcester Bosch, who I am told are the best boliers you can buy, they will give a free 5 year parts and labour guarantee!

We got our boiler from BG only because we got a 20% staff discount as the company I work for use to be part of centrica and also the immediate "£150" discount for leaving a deposit.

Also managed to get a new radiator off them as we had a faulty one but blamed the installation for causing it to go faulty.

Wouldn't of gone with them for the normal price they charge.
