Thanks for the link about free knitting patterns. I have just printed off some wee patterns for dishcloths, cell phone cozy, a knitted santa, and the little Christmas tree ornaments. I have loads of wool lying about in all colours, left over from earlier knitting and I will put them to good use. I think it is just the right thing to do with this awful rain, snuggling up with my cup of tea, and knitting for Christmas:) My hubby is watching the football on t.v. so I will sit next to him with a fleece over my knees, like Granny Gimp:) Well I am a Granny so there:) :)

Tonight I plan to make a small bottle of Skittle vodka. I plan to just use the red ones in it as a tester ;) Will post back with pics as it starts ...

Guide to do it is here: http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/msbrackenridge/entry/the_something_random/

I want to make some microfiber towels for a camping family member, these towels are extremely expensive, about £25.99. I was wondering if I could make my own but can't find a supplier online, has anyone any clue where I can buy this fabric by the metre or has anyone already made some?

Pics so far of vodka - Ignore my son's face he has dinner chops! ...
Used red skittles let my son put them in the bottle then shook it and immediately it went red. Then shook again after 5 mins and the skittles were almost white. almost 45 mins later they are all white and I have gunge on the bottle. :) Not got a photo of the gunge as yet but will take a photo probably later or tomorrow. I plan to shake them everytime I walk through into the utility room but it says on the blog around 5 days til they will dissolve and be ready to filter out the gunge

been a bit awol for a while, just busy .

spent this afternoon peeling, coring and chopping 16lbs of apples, most of them are in the freezer but i did whip up my very first attempt at jam using the blackberries i had in the freezer - I'll let you know if its eddible .

I got 19 bertolli jars off freecycle today and they are great but huge , i'm gonna have to try and get some smaller ones for gifts.

dh has just signed up for an accounting course which will be great in thelong run but we are going to be paying for it all over christmas starting october so its really going to affect my christmas spending , want to try and get all my bits as soon as i have finished buying hugely expensive school uniforms so I can just spend october making instead of spending .

I am off to look for a pattern for string bags ... anyone got any ideas ?
