I thought some of you might be interested in this: http://www.alteredelement.co.uk/epages/es108190.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es108190_es119921283844/Products/15007/SubProducts/15007-0005 its a kit to make a pot with flowers in. You decorate the chipboard flowers with paper/paint whatever and you have a lovely display. I couldn't resist and bought one but you could probably do-it-yourself easily.

just pondering whether my mum would actually sit and make that ,it is lovely:T Thankyou

It looks really pretty doesn't it? I thought I'd make it for my Mum for xmas, she loves anything like that. You're right though its a nice present to give just as it is, so that they can make it up.

Not sure if similar things are here, because havent read all yet, but typed up the following and wanted to post :P'

Mix a fancy drink top sprinkle, e.g., the type cafes sprinkle on lattes etc, for a friend/ relative who loves nice coffee. This could be used as part of a coffee hamper, or even just a nice mug and the sprinkles would be okay for a real cheapie. Just mix together some cinnamon and caster sugar. If you want to be fancier you can experiment with mixed spice, allspice and ginger too. (Use what needs to be used up!!) Can also use this as an ice-cream or milkshake sprinkle.

To make some room spray pour two cups of boiling water over 50 lavender flowers, and if you have it some lemon peel or even rose-geranium leaves. Steep 2- 3 days. Then strain out the bits and to the remaining liquid add 2 Tbsps of Vodka. Pour into a spray bottle and give away as a room spray. Could recycle a spray bottle from something else to make cheaper??

    Hi Trisha,

They are showing back in stock on my pc this morning. Looks lovely, I need to stop looking on here as I keep changing my mind about things.

I thought I'd get one of the bloom-in-bag kits and see how it turned out. If its a success I thought I could have a go at doing it myself. The oasis is cheap enough (I think), and you could use bamboo skewers like the woman said for the stems. A lot of online shops sell the chipboard flowers too.

After Melissa75's post last night, I started looking around for alternatives I could make myself (since the item was then out of stock) and came across this -

    http://www.cardcraft-uk.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2380&osCsid=dbcc398d716190265b918e4dfda8310c

I think they'd look lovely in a pot, too.

That kit is gorgeous!!! You guys must stop showing me things my brain tells me I must have :D I have sort of written a list of people and presents to make/buy so I shouldn't really deviate from that otherwise I will spend so much more money than I need to. Do love the flowers in a pot though - I'd want to make it and keep it for me - maybe I can convince someone to buy me a pot for b'day/xmas present?

Melissa, will you please post a pic when you've done yours so I can drool a bit more :D

Eeek! Thats a lot!! I did manage to pick up a pack of 3 soaps for 19p :D ... although only smart price stuff from asda... i don't want the reindeers being used as I am going to get my son to help with them and then they will be for family off the kiddies. Please let me know how you get on ... I will see if I can see any in local craft shop up here ... If so I will let you know and post some on lol

Hi Rusty, I went to Hobbycraft today and found brown pipecleaners - £1.49 for 25. I bought brown and beige as I googled reindeer images and some have brown antlers and some have beige. Let me know if you have trouble finding them, can always get them for you here and post.

Also bought red/green ribbons (ribbon section was fab, really spoilt for choice), wobbly eyes and red pom poms (only had these in a tiny size!). My pom poms are too small but I've made 2 reindeer so I could see what they looked like...don't have bells yet on the antlers!

See what I mean, noses need to be bigger! Hobbycraft didn't have any jingle bells so going to get them from ebay and look for bigger pom poms as well!

You got a good deal on the soaps! I bought 4 bars Tesco own for about 80p.

Also wanted to look at fleece in Hobbycraft but they don't sell it - thought they def would, am going to go to Dunelm like Shaz suggested and have a look there.
