scattymam - lovely reindeer head..........such an expression....

Think I've given one to just about everyone this year - next year someone will have to think of something else (won't be me cos I'm useless at ideas)

me too. everyne in the family has got one this year as we couldnt afford the usual vouchers etc. They are great but i must admit after making 30 - 40 of them it gets a little tedious - had help from my 3 yr old which i guess made things a little more stressful!

  • I have finally finished my present for my Mum! It has taken me much longer than I thought, but mainly because I had to do it out in the shed and it's been sooo cold! I think the idea was posted earlier in this thread, but if not it is somewhere from this board, so thank you to whoever found it! It's called a sock exchange or socks reunited and you can buy them online but they are £22.95 and I made this out of old MDF and paint my Dad had lying around!

pinky thats AMazing!! is it pegs for lonely socks??

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

  • Aww thanks Jamtart! I was going to decorate the socks more, like with coloured toes and things, but I was worried I would smuge it and it would get all messy. Yeah it's for all the odd socks, my Mum always has a big pile waiting for their partners, so now she can hang them up!

Yep it is an easy pattern to follow (all whole stitches). I can send you a copy of the chart if you like - PM me your address if you're interested ;)

  • Thanks rainmac and mary! I copied it from a website that sells it, so I used their 'socks' for the templates. I just printed the picture in lots of different sizes and cut one out to draw round. The hardest thing was cutting them out - I didn't get on with the jigsaw, so I cut them all out by hand with a little hacksaw! Took forever!!

  • Here are some ideas I got off MSE for my 'crafty xmas 2008' - a big thank you to this forum and all the members of MSE - I have enjoyed making presents for people so much this year!!

This is something I have been doing a while, digital art pictures of people. This is one of my partner that I have done him for xmas, just need to buy a frame. This was my own idea, but feel free to pinch it - I used photoshop to create, although it is possible using cheaper software in programs such as xara xtreme.

There was a link somewhere on this forum to the BBC good food mulled wine hamper which is the list I used to create this. I still need to add an orange with the cloves in which I'll do on xmas eve. I've made two of these hampers and I think they are lovely!

chocolate slab - showed these to customers in the pub and they loved them - wonderful and cheap xmas pressie for kids.

Hampers - I made these for my partners pub and we raffled them off, will be making some more next year for xmas pressies as people really liked these.

And finally snowman soup - nearly everyone has got one of these for xmas as I loved making them!

Thanks for all the inspiration for xmas 2008 - looking forward to making even more in 2009!! Hope everyone has a very merry christmas!
