    RIGHT! I've just made this:

    Christmas pudding vodka
    INGREDIENTS:
    1-litre bottle vodka
    1 tbsp dark muscovado sugar
    1 tbsp honey
    1 tsp vanilla essence
    2 cinnamon sticks
    1 star anise
    50g raisins
    50g almonds, roughly chopped
peel from one large orange, scrubbed
peel from one large lemon, scrubbed
    8 cloves

    PREPARATION:

    1. Combine all the ingredients in a suitably large bottle or containers. Ensure all containers are sterilised by running through a dishwasher cycle or washing thoroughly then warming in a low oven.

    2. Shake or turn the containers once a week for about two months.

    3. About two weeks before drinking, strain through a fine sieve and/or coffee filter paper.

    4. Once the two weeks are up, decant to pretty bottles and either offer them as Christmas gifts or keep them all to yourself.

I've done two bottles of Smirnoff (50cl each) and one of Blavod (black vodka)... smells devine  Just the turning, waiting and sifting to go...

Poundland have got some decent small stainless steel cocktail shakers at the moment, so I've picked up three of those too - one to go with each bottle :)

My top tip would be make sure all your crosses lay the same way. As I'm left handed the top half of my crosses runs top right to bottom left of each square.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

I LOVE cross stitch :D Just don't have enough time to do all the projects I'd like to. I'd like to do more stitching to give as gifts for next year so am going to try and stitch Xmas presents throughout 2009.

I would start by separating all the threads and as paddingtondoo says, make sure all your crosses are in the same direction. I think the general advice is to start in the middle of the design but I rarely do this! Good luck ;)

  • Excellent advice paddingtondoo and rainmac:T . My kit looks very small its a candy cane ( we all have to start somewhere..lol)

I will separate the threads and go in one direction so glad i asked.

The kit is alot smaller than i imagined and the mini scrapbook kit i also bought tiny. Oh well should read ebay small print better next time !

good luck with your gift craft stall bride on a budget have you searched on here at forums for ideas. I think someone had a question about what to put on their raffle table and lots of good ideas come from that thread.
