  • rainmac just wondered if you knew how much the soup worked out at each inc packaging etc

Might do some for stall at school fair as well as mugs and kids baking bowls but not sure parents will pay shop prices at school maybe a fair away from school would be better?

    Hi
I'm intending to do something similar for my mums school but am having so many issues with the flannels and my tesco (where I now work) doesn't sell the cheap value soap. Going to wilkos on Friday so maybe they will have some.
What is the best way of attaching the bits for the reindeer? Glue?

I used PVA glue for the nose and that's worked a treat and the goggly eyes I used are sticky on the back (otherwise would have used glue on those too). Asda does cheapie soap similar price to Tesco.

Hadn't worked out cost to be honest. I used the following to make 7 cones...
400g jar of Cadbury's instant hot chocolate £1.89 (Tesco) - still enough in jar to make a few more cones (I've been drinking it myself ;) ).
Cello cone bags £2.20 for 15 - I used 2 cones per gift to keep the hot chocolate separate. You can get unit price down by buying more: 25 is £3.25; 50 is £6.40 (prices include delivery from ebay seller)
Mini marshmallows - 99p (Tesco) - there are loads of these left, could do at least another 10 cones.
    Candy canes - 99p for 10 or 12? (Sainsburys)
Chocolate chips - 64p (Tesco). I used Supercook bag that I had in the cupboard already. Had some left in bag after doing 7 cones.
Labels - printed at home. Cost ?
    Selotape to seal up bags.
    Think that's it.

    Does that help Shaz?

Forgot curling ribbon! I used 39p roll from Ikea. It's got so much on it I think it will last me the rest of my life!!!

Bit of advice please. Have decided to have a table for pta @ school xmas fair.Begining to feel a bit twitchy now:confused: . Intend to have flannel cakes, reindeer flannels, snowman soup and a few bits like that.Have any of you tried this and what sort of prices have you charged? Hope I have posted in the right place. Thanks mariae.

I've no idea about prices really but would maybe try working out how much each piece has cost to make and then add 50% on top. Is this too low???

For your reindeer: Tesco value soap is 14p for 3 bars and Wilkos brown flannels are 25p each. I have some pipecleaners left over from mine. If you'd like them please send me a PM with your address and I'll pop them in the post.

How about reindeer food (oats and coloured sugar)? This is very cheap and easy to make (I say that but haven't made mine yet  ) and would look lovely in a little bag with a poem attached.

Good luck, your stall will look great with all your homemade Xmasy stuff on :D
