I've never been able to get plain coloured marshmallows here in Spain and have to settle for things that look like 2 inch sticks of rock,,,white on the inside and pale pink on the outside
how did your stall items go, CandyB101
Hi Sandy2, I nearly bought those ones, settled for the rectangle ones, half white, half pink :D
I did OK with the stall, made about 50 euro's. Sold 1 of the hot chocolate mugs too (so obviously impressed with my marshmallows!!!)
I had 2 packs of 10 photocards that I got from the pound shop, left over from last year, so I put each one in a cellobag, and sold them for 50 cents each ....... they went in no time! A nice 10 euro's earnt there! lol. (think I will ask my mate to send me some more over).
Sold loads of the joke 'toilet rolls' !!!!, some 'jars of nothing', 'flannel cakes'.
Found it very hard to keep a straight face when I saw this spanish lady really studying the '100% natural bubble bath', didnt seem at all impressed that I was trying to sell a jar of dried beans .... obviously thought 'crazy english woman' :rotfl:
I really did the stall to get word out of my nappy cakes about. Didnt sell one of them, but not disappointed, as many leaflets taken, and a few said they'd be in touch (including a neighbour), so fingers crossed.
It was great fun, although disappointed that my table was reserved for me in the shade, was hoping to top up my suntan!!
Doing the local carboot on Wednesday, so fingers crossed, will sell some more.
A creative mess is better than tidy idleness :D

Got my list done- need to do 9 'girlie hampers' 2 'food' hampers and a gardening hamper, although still need ideas for the food and gardening hampers

My sister, mum, SIL & MIL are getting girlie hampers and some jewellery (I work in a jewellery shop which is kinda like a cheaper grown up version of claires and I got 50% discount so mucky cheap and putting them into gift boxes to make them look more expensive

Step mum is getting the gardening hamper and season 2 of the sopranos (her birthday is on new years eve) and it's getting paid for through my playtrade funds

Dad is getting the food hamper

BIL1 is getting poker chips and something else

    BIL2 is getting food hamper

    girlfriends are getting girlie hampers
boyfriends are getting retro sweet hampers and sweetie vodka made with skittles (trying to get a hold of mini bottles (like the ones in mini bars etc) so they can each have one flavour)

    another couple of questions

can skittle/sweetie vodka be made with any other spirit? or something similar

I have heard from some places you can and other places you can't- is it possible to grate and melt down store bought soaps to place in moulds/add items to.

I also want to get some value range bubble baths and decant them into some glass jars with some scent and colouring, I know some of the ones like this I have seen in shops have dried flowers etc inside, would I be able to put things inside or would it go off and/or mouldy etc??

I did have a link to make 'fragrance stones' but have lost it does anyone have a link?

Anyone know how to do homemade candle holders? (am going to get some cheapy candles and melt in some dried flowers leaves etc around the outside)
Sorry for all the questions, only getting back into the craft thing and only used to do a couple of pieces rather than a whole load :o

    thanks for any help

I think you use vodka, because it hasn't got much flavour of it's own unlike gin or some of the other clear spirits.

Well it has probably cost me a fortune in petrol, but for the life of me I cannot find any 'small' marshmellows, so have had placed some larger ones in the cup.
Do you think it looks a bit silly with them being large  Especially as I was planning on selling them on my stall tomorrow ???

    2 Hot chocolate sachets
    9 Marshmellows
    and

I think your mugs look great Candy, the larger marshmallows look very yummy :D

    Gutted lol.
    Thanks for that though.

Am planning to do some supermaarket own brand vodka with this (It feels so wrong hehe) and do one in each of the skittle flavours and then will hopefully get some small bottles (like the mini booze ones you get in gift sets/mini bars etc) and decant them into those so everyone can get some of all the flavours

I think that's the moneysaving point you CAN use cheapie vodka and no one knows

I suppose you could try with a white rum if you're adventuous

Why not have a go at Limoncello I've also got some recipes for other liqueurs, but haven't tried them myself

vodka tends to work better as it has little taste of it's own (especially cheap ones) - in Russia they only use cheap vodka for their liqueurs so it's definitely fine to use the cheap stuff :)

What a great thread! Shame I don't have time to read all the posts. I'm not very crafty and would struggle with most of the things here. However, I have some pink card packaging here that would make lovely bookmarks (already in bookmark shape & size) with a bit of crafty know how! Does anyone have any bookmark ideas, that don't involve buying loads of crafty stuff!!

    thanks.
