I would make one as well Melissa but I've driven the OH mad as I'm about to buy 40 DMC threads, 8 Light Effect threads and announced that I'm making 50 yule logs and 50 reindeer!!:beer: Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0

Thank you for all your kind words everyone! I know I'm new about these parts and it's lovely to find such friendly and helpful people that seem to make everyone feel welcome.
I've already got lots of grand schemes for ideas... I think I'm re-hooked on being a crafty person (I say re-hooked because I was always keen on making things when I was little).
Siren, glad you're feeling a bit better and you went to the doctor.0 -
Thanks NemoToad!
Feeling much better now and think I will aim to finish the last of my no sew blankets after I've watched House hehe:beer: Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -

That's a lot of thread Siren! What are you making? I'm going to do a few coasters for Xmas to go with mugs and other bits, a couple of Lizzie Kate designs (my fave designer) and other stuff. To be honest I don't think I'll get done half of what I'd like to but it keeps me happy to plan and dream of a time when I have the house to myself and can sit and stitch till my hearts content:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I LOVE the bouquet Melissa it is GORGEOUS so cheery and bright
Have you got any cellophane? You could tie it up. I Think it looks perfect just the way it is though.
Those pots of jam NEMOTOAD look so good i think you should be banished from the thread forever until you send me some:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Pinkladymel - I was wondering what I was going to wrap it with. I might put it in a hamper for my Mum, so I'll need to get some cellophane. I'm also doing a couple more hampers. Trouble is my Mum and sister travel up before xmas and I give them their presents then, obviously I don't want them seeing their presents before xmas day. So I'll either have to bung a load of wrapping paper around it making it look crap or shove them in a box.
I was also thinking the paper flowers would be a great gift for Mother's Day, better than spending money on flowers that'll die, and that way you can colour co-ordinate them with mum's bedroom etc.
Siren - crikey 50 yule logs and reindeers, you will be busy!
Mary - I think that's the problem with this thread, there are so many fabulous ideas you just want to make everything!!
Nemotoad - welcome, glad you joined!0 -
melissa -think I ought to make a note of all the things I won't get the chance to do, ready for next year..................lol
Just come back from collected some card making stuff via freecycle............ouch, me back !! Got a taxi home, was worth the £3 -I'd have felt rotten if I'd lugged it all back in my bag. It's mostly card.........surprising how much it weighs. So, shan't need to buy any for a while............:jMary

Ah poor you siren - only just read about your fall.
Melissa - love the flowers
and Nemo toad I love the jam jars - red and green is guaranteed to make your stuff look christmassy.
Well after a scrapping crop at the weekend I have ended up with a couple of new projects (darn it) so I really need to get a wiggle on. Got my wooden spoons and door hangers so am waiting for DD to go to nursery next week to get started. But for a change I bought a mini book in a box for me, so I'm going to scrap it and keep it for myself. Keep it with my christmas decorations I think. Going to get on with some christmas cards tonight and make a list of what I need to buy for nativity scene.0 -
Not sure if this is the right thread to put this but I found it on the Freebie Board

Mary - thanks for that link, found a meerkat one, perfect for my mum's meerkat hamper!
Scattymam - thanks I'm feeling much better now, think it must be the kind words from everyone.
Rainmac - I'm cross stitching some of my Christmas cards (ones to family who will appreciate it!!) also doing that meerkat pattern you kindly sent me! And I thought if I get several threads in a range of colours they will last me and I can do some other bits after all the Christmas stuff is done and I get cross stitch withdrawal!!
Melissa - My mum works at a small primary school and I always help out at school funding events. In a crazy moment I told her I'd make a load of these and sell them at the fair!! There is less than 50 kids in the school so I'm sure 50 of each design will be enough.
I finished my last no sew blanket today!! Just have to get around to folding them up all pretty and tying the ribbon around them and adding a nice label. May wait until I do my mass Christmassy wrapping session nearer Christmas so I feel all warm and fuzzy while I do it hehe. Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0
