It's when I come upon threads like this, that I wished I had more females to "do" for:D

But I'll have a look-about for some crochet patterns to maybe make a waistcoat affair for me muvva.

Sammy, I did have a think about your grandad, & seeing as he likes to record things...how about some of those gadgets that fit onto biros & stuff for peeps with arthritic joints? I'll go for a google in a bit & see if I can find a pic of the sort of thing I'm thinking of.....

If you are lucky enough to have a Muji nearby they have some great plain notebooks and other items which almost look like brown paper, different styles and sizes too. Though a lot of their stuff is quite expensive Paperchase also do a range of plain books, including an A5 'display book' which would be good for photos or cards to give (I use one to store all my craft stickers in)

Last year I ordered a load of stuff from Vistaprint and only paid postage, including a customised calendar with family photos for the grandparents, address labels, an address stamp, a small desk calendar, post its.

Hi guys, finally had a bash at my door hangers for kiddie presents and have made 3, all for boys. I've used plain wooden door handle hangers and scrapbook paper, chipboard letters and stickers. I'm quite impressed - I know my OH will get home tonight and say "oh, they're ok I suppose" - and I will feel deflated as they've taken me a while to do :rotfl: I stuck the hanger to the paper and then cut round it using a craft knife. I haven't got the steadiest hand but think I've done ok. What do you think??? Be honest please! :D

I think they look great you should be very pleased with them.
In fact I think they look so good I might have a go at making some. I know you've said before where you got the hangers from but could you just remind me. I didn't take much notice when i read the details but having seen them....

    rainmac - they're brilliant !!!:T
Where did you get the door hangers from if you don't mind me asking ?
I'm doing baskets/boxes of stuff for my teenage grandchildren this year (boy and girl) and that's something I could add to their bits and pieces.

Thank you bunbun and mary! Door handle hangers were from http://www.craftshapes.co.uk/cat_doorhangers.htm. I bought 10 with the view that I'd make 10 so could spread the cost of the p&p between 10 gifts. I signed up to the site's newsletter before ordering which I think gave me a small discount. Very friendly service, am sure you can easily get these from other places too.

rainmac they are fantastic, I love all the colours you used and all the imagination of putting all the embellishments together, I think youngsters would love those hanging on their doors.
