  • Hi all,
need some help/advice/prodding in the right direction/suggestions or whatever!!!
I would like to do some home made/put together hampers /baskets or gifts this Christmas but dont know where to start - I am a wee bit crafty but have never considered any of my things good enough to give away!
I have a wide range to get for - 2 - 96 years old so any easy suggestions would be greatly appreciated - or should I be on another thread??
Would also like to try to make my own cards but doesnt it work out dearer?
I live on benefits and always seem to spend too much and leave myself short rather than scrimp on presies.
Thanks for any help you can give
    TF
p.s I am not much at cooking but might try some sweets - is fudge easy?

It Money Saving Old Style............going back to basics really and saving money by breadmaking, making your own food as opposed to buying ready cooked. (least I think thats what its all about). It's interesting and certainly worth a daily look. All sorts of advice on recipes that cut the cost a bit, sewing etc. Take a look at a few threads and see what you think.

Many many thanks to all of you for your ideas and inspiration! Going to make cupcakes with flannels and socks for dd1 and dd2's friends, or at least they are, and we're going to try sock monkeys! Doing journal jars for my best female friend and dd1, and survival kits for some male friends.

Looking forward to it, will be able to get started properly once the kids return to school next week.

Just decided to do a variation of 365 quotes in a jar, will do a '365 jokes in a jar' for my brother. Had originally planned to give him the quotes one, but that is more suited to my sis, so now must trawl internet for some jokes that are only a few lines long and start printing/writing. Have a feeling it will end up easier than the quotes one proved to be.

Well we went and chose assorted socks today, and if the girls haven't put them on their feet we shall be starting our sock monkeys in the morning! Also found some thin white flannels, 6 for £1 in poundland, prob didn't need to put the price then did I?! So will find some brown ones and have a bash at swiss rolls as well!

I'm all excited about starting to make all these things now, the girls loved the cupcakes idea for their friends, thank you all yet again!
