Its not at all guesswork.
If you research and follow what is happening closely, you can make accurate predictions. You can't see what is happening 10 years in the future, but certainly in a year.
And as for House prices rising, I expect to see some indices reporting monthly rises all the way down. We'll probably get the first November this year as Seasonal adjustment changes. It doesn't mean crash off and people shouldn't pile in when it happens.
On the way up we had monthly falls now and again, and it didn't stop the HPI. It works the same on the way down and won't stop the HPC.0 -

What Moves are they?
I'm not actually offering any advice either - except to tell people that now is clearly not the best time in the world to buy a house.0 -
It's all guesswork unless you have a time machine.
You are right. This is all guesswork but looking at the trend, you can tell the housing market is sliding.
We had double digit house price inflation at the beginning of 2007 and now we have negative HPI which is an incredible turn around in such a small period of time.More bearish than bullish at the moment0 -

There are threads running at the moment that would disagree with these sentiments0 -
