OP's got the wrong end of the stick on this one.
Apparently Tesco have appointed a bloke called Bin Laden onto the board and it has nothing to do with coupons.
He wants to stop Christmas!0 -

I dont think any one is telling lies but i do think it depends on who you speak to. One day i was told i was commiting fraud if my vouchers went though another time they will happily do as many as you like and last week i was told they only accept seven at a time .i hope they dont stop it as im just starting to get the swing of things with these coupons
I totally agree - my local Tesco changes it's policy depending on the day of the week and who is serving. It can be anything from as many coupons as you like, through 3 coupons only (even if you have bought all the actual items, you can't use the coupons), through to only half your shop (and even then she tried to say my coupon wasn't valid as it was more than 50%, even though it was around 40% of the total shop).0 -
TBH, I still feel a fraud using coupons for stuff I don't buy- it just does not feel right! Not saying any of you are doing wrong, of course not, but I just cannot get my head round it, perhaps it is because we only recently got Tesco and the other supermarkets here never had such policies!
Our Tesco certainly accepts the Coop £3 off £15 etc coupons but that is because we only have Tesco, Lidl and Coop and so Coop is its main competitor MOC wise (Lidl don't seem to do MOC's).
Anyway I do think some people take the biscuit, expecting all coupons to be accepted and using loads- to me it is a nice freebie but never to be expected.
I have used the Coop ones in Tesco, but can count on 1 hand how many times I have used other coupons in there for things I have not bought, and would never dream of going over 10% of total shop! (Maybe it is because I have worked in a cash office and had the 'joy' of sorting the coupons that people use!)
Perhaps when less people did this they could let the ones who did have quite a few but now with the spread of people doing this they are calling a halt on it ? (I think they do it to get people in the door basically but I think they hope we will spend a lot more than we planned- maybe they not so keen on us money savvy people who don't do that ?!)
(Ps these are my opinions and not meant to offend anyone- each to their own!)Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

It is confusing that there does not seem to be a national Tesco policy on coupons. One store accepts none while another will happily take any.I always thought ,I may be wrong, that accepting coupons for goods not purchased was a good thing for Tesco as it increased their buying power. When it came to negoiating with manufacturers they could show they supported their promotions.I never put through any products that are not stocked in the store and never more than 10% of my spend.TBH I never have that many anyway but it is nice when they work.I agree with orkney star that sorting those coupons must be the job from hell but if a really good marketing campaign came out on something we all use they would still be inundated with them."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

well today I have been told by a cashier that they don't accept coupons .. she checked with another cashier who said yes we do as long as you buy the item .. who checked with a checkout supervisor who said only 10% of the bill .. who then checked with customer service manager who said we don't accept internet coupons .. who then checked with a provisions manager and I've lost count what he said who then checked with store manager and her version escapes me but then she goes off and checks herself with customer services who she says told her you have to buy item ( she said  ) ... I then asked if I could use their phone to phone the customer services manager myself while she was there who told me that I can use all the coupons bah bah in other words as the policy posted on this site .. then they told the manager the policy ..
result being all my coupons accepted but I was seriously thinking is this worth it .. then I looked at my empty bank account and realised it was .Wish I could stop editing EVERY post I make :mad:0 -

I get this most times, the whole going round the houses asking loads of people and the customers in the queue behind you would kill you with one glance if they could !, I have had a few good savings with coupons and I have only been using them for a month or so, but I am now getting scared to use them, there is a post on here where one person was taken into the 'office' by a security guard and told off and banned from the store for using coupons (they say they were obtaining goods fraudulantly), sometimes the coupons get refused, other times the whole staff of the store get asked their opinion and other times they go straight through the tills. I have now started to pay cash and not use my clubcard if I have a few vouchers to put through.0 -
I think the suppliers are cracking down on ASDA and Tesco for allowing customers to use coupons when they have not purchased the items.
There have been reports in the retail press over the past year, but the buying power of Tesco and ASDA is making it hard for the suppliers to make a stand.0
