Thanks, Ivyleaf - I was dreading the same hacking cough and feeling ill for weeks but I feel tons better today so fingers crossed that I've got it whipped. Mind you, lazing about for the entire afternoon must have helped, I'm sure!

Spag Bol on for dinner although I wish I'd gone for salad now! Still, it's food.

Hope everyone else has had a good day and (((hugs))) to all who are unwell, have unwell family members or exam stress.

Will catch up a bit later.

Just got an e mail from Christys towels telling me about the 75% off sale that has just started.

After a bit of a fiddle trying to get through checkout ,I think I have managed to order 4 hand towels and four bath sheets in white for a quarter of the price!:j

I thought I would mention on here as by the time it gets onto shop and don;t drop or the grab it now - it has nearly all gone.

What could be more old style than buying linens and towels in the sales!!!;)

Everybody enjoyed their meal and have just taken books back to library before I nip out for some bread and washing powder for tomorrow.

    Afternoon all

just got calls from both dds to say they aren't able to come over tonight - bit cross at the short notice as plan b was to go to a dutch pub in town to watch the game but it's too late now. I'm compensating with some yellow stickered finest burgers, jersey royals and salad for tea. I went mad at the yellow sticker bit so have lots of treats for the week - so long as I remember to get them out of the freezer in time.

Ive had an email from ddad today - he's very funny about it but his two younger girls are running him ragged at the moment - I could bang their heads together sometimes. It seems I might get my hands on the youngest soon anyway as he is bringing her over for a birthday treat next month - mwaahaahaahaa!

    Evening all :hello:

Happy birthday to wmf, r.mac (for yesterday), Mr VickyA and Penny the dog :D :bdaycake:

Having a blissful evening of sitting here doing nothing, as last week was mental.

Have just been jigging the budget around. What with a fairly substantial overspend in the last month or so, plus a list of things I keep meaning to getting round to paying for (shelving for my bedroom, a long-term extended warranty plan for my washer-dryer) I have done something I very rarely do, and revised my savings target downwards for the end of this year to free up some dosh to get everything paid for and out of the way. Am expecting the water bill round about now, which I am hoping will come in below budget and free up another few quid.

elona, I am very tempted by that Christy offer (thanks for posting it!), and if I round my financial re-jiggings to a conveniently round number it leaves a sum which would be just about enough to invest in some replacements for my threadbare towels, some of which are 4-5 years old and Asda Smartprice, while others date back years - one has a name label on it, as it was my swimming towel at primary school :o

Various other things I'd like to buy this week too... Somerfield has Nouvelle loo roll at £2.62 for 12, so want to stock up.

Have a fridgeful of stuff left over from the picnic I did on Saturday, including some fresh mint, so think I'm going to make a pea and mint soup. Only trouble is, the freezer is so full I don't have enough containers left for a batch's worth of portions!

Am currently online looking at suitable places to host a birthday party as I am planning my 30th and it's only a few weeks away (and as I'm away for my birthday, it needs to be on the previous weekend - less than 4 weeks away!) Looking for a nice real ale pub or bar, preferably with a beer garden, in central-ish London, without the prices being too ridiculous... I'm sure there must be something out there.

    Love Rzl xx

Omg I am fuming:mad:  I came in from work earlier and fell asleep on my bed with the window open,I woke up to the usual sound of my next door but one noeighbours dogs barking like mad, they are left out 24/7 and bark all day and night. She has a new next door neighbour with a new baby, and he came out and started f'ing and jeffing at her telling her he was going to ring the council unless she sorted them out, and I heard her saying it was my dogs!!!!!
Luckily he told her she was talking sh1te, and he didn't even know I had dogs.Mine are rarely left out all day, and aren't barkers, as I have asked both my direct neighbours to make sure.
She has had a grudge against me since I woke her up at 730am one morning as shed parked directly across my drive and I couldn't get out.She is only in her mid twenties but is a proper conniving stuck up biatch. The way i'm feeling right now, worrying about Dad and working full time, I could go round and knock her head off.Her dogs are barking now and mine are lying on the sofa;) ;):D
I'm counting to a zillion and taking deep breaths but...............
    and corry sts not on:(:(

Had a good day at work and then OH has taken me out for pub scampi and chips tonight which was fab. My birthday meal out was yesterday but I have managed to wangle 2 this year.
Not much planned for the evening. Will ring DD as she rang earlier then off to make sure I have ironed work clothes for this week as I couldn't be bothered yesterday.
OH sound asleep on the sofa!
