Hiya :hello:
Happy Birthday to wmf!
I haven't been on the thread since Friday, so I hope eveyone is happy and healthly. Big hugs to those who are perhaps not?
The sun is shining and I'm one of those very lucky ones who doesn't work on a Monday.:D But I'm not sitting on my bum (well apart from now:rotfl: ) as I'm having a busy day here. After walking the girls to school I started cleaning the house and I'm half the way through it. Next on the list is to do my school planning and then sunday school planning. Then there are a few small jobs including some sewing and reading through paperwork. Tonight's tea is a hm pie from the freezer with lots of veg, followed by strawberries.
My weekly shopping was delivered yesterday from Mr T using a £6 code and only spending around £44.:j I am loving the Tesco value stuff at the moment and saving so much money too. I buy a combination of stuff from Aldi, Tesco (ordinary and Value) and Asda (ordindary and Smart price). I'm determined to stay around my £200 per month budget for the 4 of us, even with the big price increases.;)
The weekend past by very quickly and we even managed to have a night out on Saturday. My parents came over to look after the girls while we went to a friend's daughter's 21st, which was very nice.:D
On Sunday I had another proud mum moment as DD1 played her sax alone in church. She usually plays along with a piano and guitarist but they were on holiday, but she was fab! Tomorrow morning I've got to take her to her grade 4 sax exam. She only started playing the alto saxophone 3 years ago and considering she's only 11 she's progressed really quickly.
The weight loss has come to a standstill, due to the buffet at the partybut I'm still drinking lots of water and cutting right back, so I'm hoping to lose a few more pounds this week.;)
Right time to go and do some more work.
Have a good day!0 -
Hi All
Mixed news - DH appointment put back to Wednesday as the Dr he saw in hospital wants to see him himself (maybe to practice his English).
Me the Thyroid reading is now back to normal, but the Colestrol and Glucose readings are up, so not doing anything for now but re-testing in August when I get home. Trying to decide if whether I had it taken so soon after travelling affected it or, it is a blip, but won't find that out for a couple of months. Had my BP just before I came out so that wasn't a problem, so maybe a blip.
Thanks for the good wishes, will report back on DH after Wednesday.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
New washing machine arrived at 8 this morning :j :j
Currys has a sale which meant it was £120 cheaper and it has an 8kg drum!!!!
Still getting to grips with the dials etc.
Had a phone call from the estate agents about the couple who came to view our house on Saturday.
They cannot reach them on the mobile phone so have had no feedback.
They have sold their house "subject to contract!" I doubt they are able to make an offer for our house or they would have been in touch by now.
Two wash loads are now on the line outside and I am making new Jersey Royal potatoes, cabbage and leeks, salmon or chicken breast for tonight.
We would have had that yesterday but went for a picnic instead.
Hugs to anyone who needs one and going to make a cup of tea."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all,
What a beautiful day, just been out with the dog, and its HOT, cracking, got loads of washing dry, even my thick towling dressing gown is dry, also hovered throughout, mopped where necessary, tidied kitchen, wiped outsides of cupboards, might do inside tomorrow, was going to hover car but its just too hot.
Made up lots of rolls for DD's lunches, enough for three weeks, and have frozen them, it makes it easier, DD will just grab one from freezer, and put it in lunchbox with other bits and bobs, takes seconds ( i hate making up lunches ).
Happy Birthday to WMF Mr Vicky and Penny the Cockapoo, (not a cockatoo Kathy, although that made me laugh out loud)
R mac, happy birthday for yesterday xx
Donny, fingers crossed for your hubbie on Wed, and lets hope yours was a blip x
Well going to have a surf for a bit, then might wash my hair before pottering in garden.

Hi all,
Well we had quite a good weekend, yesterday we went to Sheffield to a hovercraft meet. It was really hot OH had fun looking at the hovercrafts I had a good time sitting in the shade with a good book.
Saturday we went out for a meal which we were hoping was going to be really nice. The meal itself was ok but there was this child running around with a ball while the parents sat canoodling in the corner  . I was so cross  that they didn't tell the child off nor keep it under control. Its not as if I am anti children, I have 3 of my own, its just that when they were growing up they were told that certain places were "grown up places" and had to behave accordingly. Sorry rant over its just that some parents don't consider other people ok ok sorry rant is over now;)
Cleaned the kitchen this morning and sorted out paperwork, getting my folder ready for scout gang show auditions and rehearsals.
Hugs to all those that need them

Quiet on here today - perhaps it's the weather!
Glad to see you're still about, Martyn!!
I've done a bit of paperwork, sat in the sun but it was too hot to stay out for long so I'm catching up on the Life in Tibet series I've had recorded for ages. It's fascinating - I love finding out about life in that part of the world. I'm knitting at the same time - DH just popped back to collect something and I'm sure he thinks that that's what I do all day!
Donny-Gal - sorry it was such a mixed result at the doctor's - hope things are better on Wednesday.
Well, not really a 'mioliere' this time, Martyn - more of a 'mio.....'!
See you all later.

Afternoon all,
I've been very bad and haven't been in here or updated my GC yet this month, on the plus side though, we've had really gorgeous weather so I have been out in my garden looking after all my lovely veggies
Not much to report really as I have been busy at work and the weather, although I'm loving it, is really tiring me out. I'm about ready to fall asleep now, I've been up since 5am this morning.
See you all later
