  • No you can't connect it through the sky dish. If you think about how it works you'd realise why - the sky dish points up at a satellite in orbit, whereas the Digital Terrestrial broadcasts are ground based antennas.
Why pay more than you have to?

Your viewing card will automatically become a 'Freesat from Sky' card.

I have found sky to be being a bit cocky recently and "may" switch off your 'old' card EVEN from viewing free channels.

If they do then u have to sign up for Sky Freesat which is £20. They will send you a new card that guarantee's the free channels for 3 years

NB The freesat helpline is listed in the telephone number section on the sky box

  • Does anyone know if Sky+ with freesat (i.e. no subscription other than the monthly £10 for Sky+) is possible, at all? Thanks

Should be ok, but you will still need your Sky card to receive Freesat, and unfortunately it will not then record, once the full subscription ends.

Yes it is. This is what I did over a year ago, you don't get all the freeview channels...E4 most notably, but you can use all the sky+ functions for £10 per month.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Hi, If you have a Sky+ box the Sky Freesat card will NOT work with it. It took me many telephone calls to Sky before some one at their end told me this. I sent the Freesat card back and had my £20.00 refunded.
