Hi all, I have a brand new logic combi 24 it has only been installed for a couple of months, it was working fine until it got low water pressure. topped it up and restarted the boiler. now the hot water works but when we put the ch on the boiler kicks in and works for about 10 seconds then stops. the code on the display is c, we looked at the codes in the manual and it says that there is a demand for heating but the system has reached temp set on boiler, but rads are cold.

can anyone help with this please

p.s all valves are at original positions before i topped the boiler up.

I have a Ideal Combi Boiler with a megaflo water tank.
After every shower the tank keeps discharging water from the overflow, which is just in the airing cupboard hence we have water all over

    Any help appreciated.

Read the instructions and recharge the air bubble in the megaflow.

Why is the overflow not piped to outside like the law stipulates? Who installed it?

Get Ideal out. You have a warranty. They usually get there next day.

    Hi,

I wonder if someone could help, our boiler CH system is pressurizing up to and over 2.5 bar. it does this over 4 to 5 days. to eliminate the only easy culprit i have disconnected the filling loop but its still over pressurizing, looking at the schematics I'm now thinking it could be an internal crack in the DHW Heat exchanger or a leek from the DHW flow valve into the diverter valve assembly. are either of these plausible and which would be more likely. I cant imagine that the Heat exchanger would have cracked but who knows?

sorry should have said that this is an Alpha HE CB25/33 condensing boiler

Most likely the expansion vessel need recharging.
  • HI, thanks for the reply, I just checked the expansion vessel and it was at 1.1 bar which is .1 over the manual specs. I assume this means it's ok or should it be higher? to reset it i would need to drain the water out and then pressurize to 1 bar? thanks

Hey folks- I’ve got a combination of issues with my 10-year old combi boiler which I’m hoping someone could shed some light on. The main thing that’s bugging me is that the boiler fails (red light on) 9 times out of 10 when we turn a hot tap on. I have observed this to be the case at at least two separate taps in two different floors. What happens is that hot water will start to flow for a mere second or two, before it switches to cold and the boiler red light comes on. I then proceed to switch the boiler off and on again, and everything works fine.

After a few hours, the same needs to be done again. The boiler was serviced 4 months ago and was found to be in perfect shape. Would anyone have any clue at to why this is happening?

I have an 8 year old Alpha CD35C boiler that is now running tepid hot water. The ch is working ok. I can get hot water at bathroom and kitchen sinks if I run the bath hot tap at the same time! I have tried turning the main stop tap down but problem persists. Any help would be appreciated
    UPDATE
Called in Matt a local heating engineer. He replaced a leaking diverter valve and motorised head but still had tepid water. He diagnosed a crossover in my newly refurbished bathroom pipe work. Isolated the thermostatic shower control and hey presto lovely steaming hot water from taps. Removed cartridge and cleared debris; reassembled and all works fine.
  • I hope this thread is still read by the knowledgeable folk here.

I have a Worcester Bosch 280 COmbi boiler that heats the house lovely, I have an issue with my hot water in that it only delivers hot water if the heating was on and active (pumping round the house) at the time I start the tap. If the heating isn't pumping then I hear the boiler click and fire up but then immediately stops.

    Any ideas?

When the boiler "immediately stops" what lights are on the control panel? Do you have a demand light? Does this go out? As you told us the boiler fires up for heating we can dismiss ignition or gas supply problems. Does the system have a diverter valve? When demanding CH is the diverter valve in the CH position? When you turn on a tap does the diverter valve move to HW?
