Today I am feeling a bit a bit more postive than I have for the last few months.
DH and I had a chat this morning about children, adoption etc (at his instigation!) and I explained that I didnt think we would be able to adopt because of his mood disorder - not because he wouldnt be a good dad, because he would, but because of all the hoops and meetings and social workers etc involved in the process - and I was concerned that this would be too much for him and I couldnt cope if we started and were then turned down. I also explained that this was the main reason for my depression (tho I didnt explain that my sister now having a baby was also part of it as he has a tendency to tell people things without realising that he shouldnt).
Later on we were watching Judging Amy - it was the episode where one her friends asks her to bring up her baby if she should die. DH said if that ever happened to one of our family we would allways offer to bring any children up. I said that I think all our families know that we would do that. He is quite sweet and has obviously been mulling things over and working out what is wrong with me for himself. Which I have to say is more than my mum and sister have managed to do (bearing in mind mum is a social worker, sister is highly educated and DH is well, away in a world of his own most of the time).
Anyway.
Alba - I got some of my to do list done. I got the sick note sent into work. I havent done any studying because I am to antsy and can't concentrate. However, I did drag DH down to the river and sat him on a bench whilst I went for my first run. Well OK walk and jog like a demented woman! I really enjoyed it!
Tomorrow I will start studying again today I am going to just relax and write my diaries.
Hugs to those who need them especially LadyM and shaz. Hope things look up for you both soon.0 -
I noticed you weren't around. I hope things get better for you very soon. It's a good sign your up today. I normally only get up cause I have to. If I didn't have my son, I'd be in bed so much more.
Thanks sweetie, sometimes people don't realise how hard it is just to get up each day. sigh.Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Writing a letter is good, you can get thoughts down that you might not be able to say out loud. I'm okay, just taking it slowly today. Have just been out for a walk, just round campus. Am feeling huge today thoughnot eaten anything yet. sigh. xx

LadyM, I'm sorry but I just have to laugh, your surname is the very definition of ironic ...
I'm off shortly to my psychiatrist, then straight after to the psychologist, double dose today!0 -
*hugs* Sf.
Chollita - Haha. Yeah, I know. I swear the mental health professionals have a field day with me because of it.lol. I personally hate it though but it is a unique surname I guess.
Good luck with both psychs today.

Yes, SF, I think most do, unless they've experienced it themselves. Even then people tend to forget very quickly! Glad to see you're still here!
Kentish lady, you sound much better today. Things do appear more positive and I bet that run did you the world of good. Well done on doing it, and also well done in ticking some things off your list. Have a relaxing day & good luckj with your studying tomorrow. I know the adoption process is difficult and stressful. I also think prospective good parents get knocked back, and bad ones can slip through. It's a such a shame. I certainly wouldn't go for it till I felt strong enough to cope with all the in and outs and outcomes. I think you should work towards starting the process, it gives you reason to get better, and I bet you'd be fantastic parents.
Gosh, Anni, what a great idea... glad you feel a bit better. Think I might use the letter idea too! (thanks!)
Off again for a bit, catch you all later.
Take care, everyone

Alba - My doctor is very understanding. My foster mum never used to let me write letters. She said it's stupid. Janette says it isn't stupid and that it's a good way to express myself when I can't do it verbally.
My doctor doesn't mind. She says she'd rather me do that then not say anything at all.
