Thing is, it might not be uncommon but I think people must keep it to themselves, I only know of two people and I've known both of them for 20-30 years. Maybe there are people about who don't let on about them, for fear of what people think. like meKEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -
yeh, there is a bit of stigma there - similar to mental health probs really. Its a excellent way to frighten people off when needed.

Lets be honest, ANY mental health problem has a stigma attached to it, don't people realise that they have as good a chance as you or me to get depression, anxiety, stress, eating disorders, etc etc? Mental health problems aren't chosen by us! We didn't go along to the mental health shop and say "oh, I think I'll have depression, and um, maybe an eating disorder to go with it. And perhaps I will self-harm too"
(ooohh don't get me started, I'm fed up with trying to explain myself. I've got physical problems too - I didn't choose them either!)KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -

Totally agree! I would love this to go, I'd do anything I could to feel better.
Just put my washing out, so I'm off to bed... although as ususal I feel more awake now, after feeling shattered all day! I may be back, but in case I'm not, good night. Hope you all sleep well tonight.

lol so true, people seem to want to distance themselves from you sometimes or tell you "the answer" they just dont get that im not stupid and I would put money on that I have tried a lot of the things they can suggest.... its not something which goes away just because you think positivly or eat more fish and veg etc.

yeh exactly ...
I think there's something about having mental health probs which sort of attracts us to having stuff happen to us that pushes it even further ... like looking back at this week i wish id just stopped in bed from Monday through Friday.

Thanks, same too you.
P.S. I've lost quite a bit of weight in the last year, so many people seem to think my depression has gone ... like it was in my fat!! :rotfl:0
