    Who suffers from PMS/PMT/PMDD???

I used to have it severely to the point of my life being very affected by it. I think I still have it but in a milder form. Most things I read about it have happened to me, so any questions or issues will not phase or surprise me.

I think women need a break from the role they have to take at this time and they can't, so they battle on and their tolerance is far less, so get upset more and hit out more as a result.

Of course, people don't understand, especially men or masculine women and they take the mood personally. When a woman is in the PMS state, she can't be their mother and care so much as she normally does, so she is more honest and they don't like it, yet ironically they are quick to be that honest and harsh themselves. What she doesn't need is their aggro on top, so if you see a woman who is struggling, don't aggravate her more - it ain't personal at you, she's tired and needs a break, the last thing she needs is people to misunderstand her and ask more of her than she can give. An educated person, simply backs off or if they are brave, give her a hug. When I was in New York, I was feeling really hacked off at a man and told his boss about him. She gave me a big hug and really listened to me. I bet she gave him hell afterwards:D I have never got this in the UK. At best I get an apology, but most of the time I get defensive BS.

Women are seen in society as being more caring, all the time, so 'males' find it hard to cope when they deviate from that role. Unfortunately, when women are less 'caring', it is because they need more caring from others and don't get it!! Instead, they tend to get 'males' reacting which is the last thing she needs.

I have felt a lot of my problems have been female related. Men do seem to be able to coast more in life and get better pay and prospects, they seem to do less around the house, so a woman working full time earns less and has to do most of the housework too.

I know men do have their problems and I am not belittling them but feel things are aimed at men far more than women. I am quite shocked at the sex division in this day and age. I do remember it being far worse but it still hasn't progressed as quickly as I would have liked.

I also wonder about the chemicals in the water supply. Water varies so much from region to region, such as the hardness etc - just a thought....

Thank you for listening - it has helped. I hope it helps someone else on here too, even if it opens up some understanding about their own suffering.

I would love to be more gentle and feminine but feel if I am, I will be taken advantage of, so have to adopt a 'don't mess with me' attitude, sometimes it might seem aggressive, sometimes it will be with a smile and cheerfulness but I cannot drop my guard. My OH is like a chocolate teapot, so have to take them on when it is in person. He is good on the phone tho, so leave him to that..

Being bullied and having bad health are a lethal combination.

I just don't know what to do.

My OH isn't happy with me, so I can't really ask him for any help. A&E is too far, and I'm not supposed to go there. I tried phoning the Samaritans, but just can't speak. The Crisis Team wouldn't let me have thier number. I left a message for my sponsor, but she hasn't got back to me. My 'friend' is busy.

What right has he got to be not happy with you? Are you happy with HIM??? He sounds like a chocolate teapot and just as helpful to you!! Can you afford to live alone? If he earns good money, he has to support you. Thank heavens you don't have his kids and you are still young.

I'll ask you a question and I want you to be honest with yourself here - how does it feel when you think about living alone and not being with your OH? People you live with can make you feel great or cr*p. I would avoid the mistake of running off with the first kind person you meet until you really know you can trust them.

Typical people not their when you need them tho:mad: What happens when you ring the Samaritans? You don't have to go straight into your problems, you can chat to break the ice.

Hey CCStar, what you doing up? Am just back from A&E. Remind me never to go there again! Exactly how does making me feel even worse about me help?! I'm ill and I want help. Telling me to get a job isn't really going to help is it!

    I'm always up late

Is that what he or they said? Get a job?

Sounds like they lack care skills. The trouble with A&E is it is more geared towards physical problems, such as RTAs, heart attacks, severe cuts and broken limbs. It probably isn't the right place to go but you have tried everything else.

What keeps triggering these thoughts? They are thoughts, you don't have to believe them. I have some very bad thoughts but realise that that is what they are.

    What happened at A&E?

I saw a triage nurse who took my blood pressure and heart rate, then a nurse took a blood sample. I then had to wait in a nice little room with nothing but white walls and a chair. Then a lady from the Crisis Team came and asked some questions, called me an attention seeker, made me feel worse and sent me home.

    Really? !!!!!!.

There's a difference between wanting attention and asking for help. Dressing in a pink panther costume and dancing in the street is being an attention seeker. If you self-harm, you want help, not attention.

Way I see it, even if someone does self-harm for attention, that's a pretty drastic way to get attention, and they should damn well get the attention. There's more going on than them being annoyed at not being the centre of attention !!!!!!.

It !!!!es me off when "normal people" judge people with MH issues, but when healthcare types do it...

We've all got the wrong illness. If we were junkies they'd be falling over themselves to help us.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

Fg - The way you were treated is bloody outrageous. How dare anyone threat you with such little respect and such rudeness. I would complain about it hun, but that might make you feel worse. :([[hugs]]
