I would have thought it continued to change (develope) also. I'm definitely a different person than I was before! I wonder if it's my imagination?

Now I'm confused. Maybe we should keep the philosophical debate simple at this time of night :D

  • Wow! the thread's back! It disappeared a few months ago, and I was gutted and haven't really been on MSE forum since but just found it again. Haven't read through any posts yet - anyone out there remember me?

I'm not sure how to describe BPD really as a lot of things come into it but I always find this helpful in helping me understand myself. http://psychcentral.com/disorders/sx10.htm

    Welcome back Whitevanwoman.

Really glad to be back. Lady M - I'm BPD, also had diagnosis of depression & bipolar, & anxious avoidant PD, and I'm only 5ft2:mad:

Hang on in there, I was going through a bad time when the thread disappeared in Feb/March, but I gradually picked up, starting figuring alot of stuff out for myself, writing stuff down, doing things to help myself and last week was my first proper week back at work after being off sick. Its not easy and tbh most days I would rather stay home and I come home exhausted each evening but facing things head on and tackling them and refusing to give in is the way through it. God knows how I did get through it, as I had no desire for life, no reason for life, no motivation, no ambition, no drive, no confidence, I couldn't see any point in my life or in being alive. But I did get through it. And I know I will go through it again but each time I think it does get a little easier; my depression doesn't last quite as long, and recovery is a little quicker and each time I learn and understand a little more about myself and why I react to things the way I do.
    Thinking of you x

Thanks WVW. That must be hard having to deal with all of those. I only have two diagnoses and I'm finding that hard to deal with.lol.

I'm stubborn so I won't give up. I'll just have a mini rest and then get back up on my feet. :)

I'm off to bed now as I'm shattered but I'll hopefully be around tomorrow. Not sure what time though. Need to go to the library, then need to post a few letters etc. I'll be glad when this week is over.lol.

    xx

Hi alba, and everybody else :hello:
I definitely think it's worth reading up about stuff, but if there's anything you're not sure about ask your doc: it's easy to get unnecessarily worried about things you read, especially if it's on the internet and you can't verify the source.
I've had what appears to me to be a chronic migraine for months, and when I described this to my GP he never contradicted my perception of my ailment as a migraine; it was only when I mentioned that I'd read somewhere that a headache lasting that long isn't really a migraine, that he actually seemed to start paying attention. Though I'd already told him repeatedly that the headache never stopped, he then asked "do you have a headache right now?" I felt like saying "no, I've been sitting here telling you porkies for fun"! He reckons it's true that migraines can't last that long, but he also thinks that it can only be a migraine if the pain is very severe, whereas I've read from several sources that it can be moderate to severe pain.
I've since read in Wikipedia that continuous migraines do exist.
Anyway, my dr says if the tablets he prescribed this time don't work he'll refer me to a neurologist, so I figure even if I'm right and he's wrong and it is a migraine, the neurologist might have some different ideas that we haven't tried yet to tackle it.
